Problem: extreme curling and yellowing of new growth, burnt tips, some leaves yellowing throughout the tops, red stems

Medium/grow method: roots organics orginal

Feed: and supplements used: 1.5-3.5 g/ gal Megacrop increased weekly and 1tsp / gal roots trinity

water source: dechlorinated well water ph 6.8

Strain/age:Ripleys OG from mephisto day 27-28 from sprout ight used: 2 autocobs over 4 plants, ripleys being the biggest

Climate: 20x36x60 tent inside closet {stealth) , 3 gallon fabric pot temps:77-84 humidity:54-70%

Additional info: Hey guys first time auto grower here and ive been doing well up until this point. i think i may have fucked myself or atleast my plants pretty well. i have a Ripleys Og thats at day 28, a sweet and sour at day 23, and two forgotten cookies at day 13. lights are usually around 18 inches from the top, last watering was the one i introduced 3.5 g of megacrop to my ripleys and sweet and sour and thats when i noticed the issues occurring on the ripleys. The next day i noticed preflowers starting to shoot pistils. 7th pic is before i gave her the 3.5g per gallon and i only feed 1/2-3-4 of a gallon per 3 gallon pot. And the last is my tent now. i just flushed her with clean water and was wondering if this is nitrogen toxicity, overwatering, light stress or a combo of all 3? and is the redeemable?

I notice with my Autocobs if they are too close the tips of the leaves will start to curl up. I don't see that on yours. Are you feeding any Ca/mg ? It kind of looks like the start of a ca/mg deficiency, except that usually starts on the lowers first I believe. And the drooping does kind of look like over water. I'm just a noob browsing the forums, so take my advice with a grain of salt. One of the more experienced guys will be around to give some pro advice sooner or later. GL.

(Edit): just lookin over your pics again, those leaves are really curling under, maybe not just simple over water droopy. Will be interested in seeing what the pro's say. Do the plants perk up shortly after lights on ? Looks like just the one on the left is the big concern imo.

Hold off on feeding for a while and raise your lights up to 24 inches and see if this helps If your soil is real wet let it dry out fully before next watering.

thanks for the input man i appreciate it,im running the lights on 24/0 so no rest time for these babies to droop, i may be a little heavy handed with the watering though im getting back into the grow game and shaking off the rust. No cal/mag for the girls yet but i have some cali-magic just incase i need some. ive grown countless plants and never had clawing this bad. really confusing. hopefully a flush will help her regain some vigor.

thanks man will do, and just to clarify, im watering based on the how dry the top soil is, should i be checking them by weight instead? ive always heard both works but i know autoflowers can be sensitive and like a thirstier environment.

Even though the top soil is moist the lower part of the pot could still be dry so you should get used to the weight of the pot when you water when it is fully soaked. The best way to water is in steps not all at once.Water than wait awhile and water again. If the soil is dry and you water all at once alot of it will just go through the pot and out the bottom.

you should be using a root stimulant like rizotonic, for this to do it's job. The roots will require soaking right through to the bottom, point being, you do no have the sacks in round 'Run Off" water catchers trays, 30mm deep.

For the roots to find thier way right to the bottom of the sack, (Big Root Matrix = Big Plant), and fill the sack with healthy white root.............. you will need to soak the pot through with root stim, once a week, and in adition, let the pot dry right out, every week "Once" a week also. The other days of the week, water every other day.

When you get your run off catcher trays, when you do get run off in the bottom tray, "Never" leave the plant sitting in stale run off water................ allway's tip the run off away, allowing oxygen back under the plant root matrix.......

re the yellowing of leaves,

Mega Crop say this on thier site.. in one gallon = 4.54ltrs on their calculator, they say in "Veg 2" in one gallon 4.76g of mega crop............................ you said ( 7th pic is before i gave her the 3.5g per gallon) setting the calculator at grams, and 4.5ltr reservoir gives grams per gallon............. @4.76g/Gal/1 = roughly one gram a Liter................. if your not at 1g/Ltr/1 at the mo, i would raise your feed ratio, according to mega crop your feeding a bit light at 3.5g a gallon........................

as according to mega crop site the yellowing (Step 1 Below) is due to low nitrogen in the feed ??............ step 1 + 2 below is from mega crop site, i would follow the advice given........... and as below, pay close attention to the green coloring of your plants !......... should you see the very fine tip of a leaf begin to yellow or go brown................. back of the grams per gallon used.............. Step 1 – Dialing In Nitrogen levels through MEGA CROP dosage by monitor your plants coloring:

  • Pay close attention to the green coloring of your plants leaves. Nitrogen levels in MEGA CROP are strongly related to how green your plants leaves will appear
  • If your plant leaves are light green or yellow, then increase your dosage of MEGA CROP to boost Nitrogen levels and increase green color
  • If your plant leaves are too dark green and/or have burned tips, then scale back your MEGA CROP dosage to reduce the nitrogen.
  • Your goal is to have the plants coloring to be a strong healthy green without burning, and you control this by increasing or decreasing the MEGA CROP dosage. If you are a new grower and not sure what color your plants should be at, browse the internet for pictures of healthy plants of your same type. You should make dosage changes for the first time in small amounts, for example changes of 10-20% increase or decrease only, and then waiting 2-3 weeks to monitor plant response after each change. Since the plant has to take time to uptake nutrients and process them, it may take 2-3 weeks to notice the results of the changes you made.
Step 2 – Dialing in your PK boost levels during bloom for maximum yields and resins:

  • Once your have achieved proper base nutrient dosage through regulating Nitrogen, then during flowering/blooming phase you can optionally add in PK booster to increase harvest.
  • PK Boosters like Bud Explosion have high amounts of P and K, and 0 (N)itrogen, so you can add them in during flowering without risking changing your plants Nitrogen levels
  • This may take some time, but you can continually increase PK boosters over several harvests to monitor for increase weight and quality. As long as you do not notice plant damage from increasing the dosage, you can experiment by increasing the dosage, and monitoring the final end results/yields.
  • Eventually you will find the dose that maximizes your results/yields, where adding more will not give additional benefit (saturation point).

As the plant in question (On The Left Of Shot), is showing clawing also, but the plant on the right on the same regime is looking fine, and not showing any curling, tip burn or clawing. I would hazard a guess the plant on the left is just a nute sensitive "Sativa" dom strain.......... i would up the feed a bit, and see how the yellowing fills back in green on the correct dose per gallon.................. get the trays below to check 'Run Off" Ph and Ec, try and keep the feed Ph around 6.8 as chart below.... you can see the optimal nutrient uptake range.......ALR

everything youre saying is pretty much understood, im just curious as to why my plants looked healthy as fuck the watering before at 3g a gallon and now at 3.5 (not that big of a change IMO and under the recommendations from greenleaf) and it completely fried them with little to no sign of stress in between, also i have given them root tonic from elite nutrients in the beginning 2 weeks along with straight tap water before giving any fert. also i never water enough to have my plants sitting in water, the tent has a small slope to it to let the water flow to one side if it does come out but ive never drenched her outright, i always do 1/4 gallon at a time until theres minuscule amounts of runoff. my 3 other plants have recieved the exact same watering and theyre flourishing. is it perhaps a micro-nutrient problem? cal/mag? lockout? im confident that it will affect my yield im just trying figure out if flushing is the only thing i can do to save her? is there a foliar spray or perhaps an additive i could add to help her absorb more of her nitrogen or what ever it is shes getting too much of. i def dont think shes deficient seeing how she was perfect the watering before this also shes an indica so the sativa dom theory doesnt fit. im hoping its just the strain and not my fuck up. Ph is great, temps are good, lights are far enough away, humidity is moderate. Ive never had such extreme clawing so im kinda worried.

Don't stress too much buddy!! Try to avoid any knee jerk reaction(like flushing) I think namvets advise will have you looking tiptop again in no time

thank you man, i did do a small watering this morning with straight Ph'd tap water (pot was light in weight) and shes already losing some of the claw. never seen anything so severe, scared the piss out of me. hoping she produces some nice smoke
