Finally after waiting decades, I will legally be able to grow Jan 1 2020. I couldn't be more excited!

I plan to do autoflowers indoors. I need to finish my basement, this will give me a reason. I'll be able to grow 5 plants at a time, max.

Tent size. I was thinking about a 5 'x 8' x 65 inches or so height. Will this be enough to give me proper space?

AutoPots seem great. I was planning to go with organic soil, smartposts and Blumats, but it seems like the yield is 2 or 3x with the AutoPots. Maybe with 5 plants, it wouldn't be needed? I want enough to press, for RSO, and edibles.

And then the light situation is super confusing. I think HID/vegetation LED/flower sounds like it might provide the best flower quality - denseness/size. That's my guess from a lot of different articles, but how do AutoCobs compare? I was thinking about getting 5 AutoCob 3500k's and place them above each one. And at what wattage is optimal?

I also just started autos, I’ve done a lot of research and lights were also super confusing. I went with 2 1000w led 250 actual watt. “They” also say coco is a better medium which is considered a hydroponic, breathable cloth pots also. I can also only grow 5 plants but started early and went with 8 Incase any didn’t make it. There are some helpful youtubers who can give some tips also (seedtostoned, mrknucks) I cant tell you from experience yet but that’s the route I went

I always get the tallest available tent, even with my fan/filter outside my tent.

I have 6 of the excellent quality 3500K Autocobs and like them a lot. The 3500K is good for the whole grow. The Autocob is a fixed watt light at 60 watts. They have a low heat throw, low electrical draw, no noise as there is no fan. Just hang it and grow grow grow. One per plant will do very well. At the moment I am running two Autocobs per plant. Start them at least 30" above seedling.

5x8 is 40sq feet. If your planning to use it all, it will require 25x40 1000 watts of quality led. 5 plants you should be able to get into a 5x5 area, get a quality light if possible, cob/quantum board. Many go with the cheap lights, and end up wanting to upgrade within a couple grows.
DIY is an option, sounds like you might be handy...

I have an order on its way thru Kingbrite off alibaba app cuz was only $184 for 2 quantum boards on their own heatsinks and then 240w meanwhile driver plus separate switch to throw the deep red/ir and uv on for flowering. Was only like $45 with it for shipping and your orders protected in case it doesn’t ship when they say it will. I have email for Kingbrite rep if you go that route. They offer qb or cobs

I'll try to follow and see how you like them. Thanks!

I have no idea how long it would be before they'd raise the limits. I'm thinking 5x5 should be enough. They seem like they spread really bad though.

Ya. Definitely getting the tallest I can get. Will be in a basement so I'm thinking about 6'5" max. The low heat is definitely a plus.

Thanks. I'll check them out. What size tent? The results I've been seeing with the autopots is crazy. I may end up going to soil + blumats at some point to test. Maximum flavor sounds awesome.

Thanks for all the advice everyone!
