Hi there,

i have been growing for quite a few years but i am new to autos. My question is i alwayspinchedthe tops to promotewider bushier plants, should i do that with my autos or not, ?cheers

hey buddy you might have a little better luck with you questions if 1. you go to the Intro thread and do a welcome so folks know your here. 2. while your there you can ask your questions in the new grower section. my two cents i dont pinch.

TOKE OUT

Hey man welcome. I agree. A proper introduction is recommended so we can all get introduced. But it happens. As far as topping it is not a regular practice nor is it recommended with Auto's.

Now with that being said it has been done and with success but we only know of a few strains that deal well with it well and I don't know those off the top of my head. Due to the shorter lifespan of the AFs, I wouldn't top them because any stress or anything that stunts them is going to really take a toll on the overall growth and final yield. Hope this helped.

cheers everyone, will do an introduction i wasnt aware. cheers

Topping usually isn't recomended for autos ther veg growth is short so it's best to leave them do there thing.

Topping dwarf autos isn't very effective. It will set them back a week or so while they recover and in the end they won't yield any more than one that wasn't topped. If you have height issues LSTing them is far more effective than topping.

Super autos are a different story. With their longer veg period and bigger size they do respond pretty well to topping.

[pricks up ears] muddy, what are some superauto strains that i can check out? anything that comes immediately to mind? cheers!

In my experience supers are better suited for outdoors. They were bred to be an early finishing alternative to photo plants. I had good success with Super Cali Haze outdoors. I've tried Super Stinky and Samurai Jack indoors and the results were fair. LittleT just picked a Samurai Jack that he grew outdoors that go to 7 foot. Mine got to 4' indoors, which became a problem in my small space. Supers were developed by the breeder Stitch and are sold by his Flash seed line. You can be confident in anything that he has bred.
