So i have about 5 different autos that were bread with photos that liked, now ive done some auto to auto crossing which have have priduced well but i want to no wat happens if i were to breed a known auto with one of the photo to auto seeds which also is a auto or atleast its showing all the auto traits (flowering on its own under 18/6 wat would the resulting offspring be mostly auto or 50 split photo/auto or would it results in this cross need to be bread to f2 then select auto trait . All new pollen will be made with sts incase that makes a difference. Sorry for the long run on sentence and thanks for any help in advance guys.

75%auto maybe better if you were sure auto to auto of photo x auto cross but I would select off quality and structure and take it to f4-5 to ensure the highest quality the auto gene will follow the selection for auto comes f4-5 usually. Starting genetics play a role in how many generations u want for selecting quality. If you’re working with mephisto hubbubbasmelloscope and crosses it with photo bubble gum strain u could start selecting auto f2’s of that photo x auto cross. I’m no expert but been reading about breeding ona and off for a while thinking about starting myself. Hopefully someone will chime in and i won’t look too dumb lol.

Sorry.. I actually meant to post an answer earlier. There is a lot to it brotha and it's best that you really understand how breeding works to be successful. The auto gene is recessive, so if you cross a photo to an auto, the f1 seeds will be 100% photoperiod. You will have to grow out the f1 seeds and cross them again. Those f2 seeds will be 25% auto. You then have to grow out the f2 seeds, find the auto plants, and cross the auto plants together. That shoyld give you full auto at f3. Then you start selecting for traits and take them to f4-f5. It takes some serious effort and time to create an original auto, but that's the basics of the process.

Ya so i got the whole start at f2 for the original photo to auto but i gess wat im mostly wondering is if i breed out f3s say 4 times and get which ever i use to then grow out the resulting offspring with a new auto of known lets say 24carat which is f5 im not looking for anything more than just the auto gene part other traits im not to worried about this is more for fun to see wat will occur ive done some regular breeding with fairly good results but i want to get a better understanding of the auto gene thanks for the replys ne1 no of some good info i can read up on without having to sift threw google search would be much appriciated or threads hear tag me thanks again for ur time and patients

Also i have a american pie crossed with an unkown photo bag seed popped 4 and two seem auto already or atleast making the lil pre flowers this is why i was asking bc i was doing wat you were saying above but those 2 have me ? wat or if i should pollinate them and with photo or auto pollen im now looking at it ad maybe both and run each when these are done to see wat happens

That’s what I always thought as well but there have been a few f1 crosses showing up that auto at f1. Check out @StickMan and @tobe as well as a few others. One thing I’ve learned about everything in life Mother Nature doesn’t follow a text book she’ll make her own rules as she sees fit.

Please start out finding if your auto parent/s are truly auto flower phenotypes, by flowers showing at 24/0 light cycle, instead of 18/6. It will save you aggravation in successive generations on your way to fully auto.

And yes, our friend @Mizzo81 is quite correct in his post.

Have fun!

Peace

:smoking: I thought so too Proph', until I grew Stick's MoB/OGK x C99auto (F1's) last season,... I was thinking along the lines of what Sweet did with their F1FV's, and now Dinafem and Delicious too,... direct auto x photo F1 progeny that are still photosensitive, but with speedy blooming.... Apparently the process is more complex than that, and ditto for how the auto genetics get expressed!--- Both mine and a friends I gave one to (fem's, BTW) sexed at about 3 week's, grew like an auto, and then went into bloom right on cue... They did take longer to finish than usual though, another odd thing...:rofl: .... But good parents make good progeny! This cross is a straight-up powerhouse with superb aromatics,.. she's cured to an classic MoB berry aroma with earthy/chocolate notes- ....makes me want to hatch about a 100 of these and see what falls outta the family tree!
I think I asked Stone too, about getting auto's at F1 with such crosses, think he did on rare occasion,...

Ya so ive done a few really nice crosses one with royal queen seeds diesel x dark devil i call tripple d this is 2nd time its been grown and seems stable so i crossed this with a blue toof and samsqunch og so cant wait to see the results i plan on crossing these with a northerlights x og f3 that i bread first breeding i ever did. First pic is the nl x ig f3 second pic tripple d the rest are the NLxOG f3, i gess more experiments are in order thanks for info guy and all ur guys time keep u updated if yall want doing alot of mephisto crosses like blue toof x hubba blue toof x m.b.a p and hubbasquach x m.b.a.p
