I know this has been hashed out before, but just to clarify it one more time. When you ph your intake water and it comes out low in your runoff water do you ph it higher so it comes out on runoff correctly or just have it right on intake and don't worry about runoff.Mine goes in at 6.4 and runs off at 5.8.:peace:

Thats well with in a safe range, and some say 5.8 and others say 6.2.... Personally I think your micro elements are just as important...that means not neglecting them... IMO your PH is in range.

Growing in soil, if I saw my runoff at 5.8 I would probably bump up the next watering a bit higher rather than giving it 6.4 again. But what you're really looking for is a trend, not a snapshot in time. Like cres said, 5.8 isn't going to damage your plants. But if it was previously 6.4 and it's been trending downward with every watering, you should be prepared to deal with it before it gets way out of whack and you start locking out nutes.

Yea 5.8 is more of a hydro PH. Soil for maximum nute uptake is 6.8. Once you get below 6 you will see lockout. I keep mine between 6.4-6.8 at all times in all pots. If mine was 5.8 IDE adjust water to 6.6-6.8 to slowly bring it up til I got my runoff to 6.8 then keep it there.

Thanks guys.My well water is about 7.3 out of the tap and when I had my nutes it comes down to 6.4. I will either add some fast acting lime or slowly add some ph up to my intake water to get it the runoff to around 6.8 .If it varies slightly between 6.2 and 6.8 thats what it will be.

I was just wondering the same thing myself this morning
