I would still check it. I think it depends on your tap water.

I did a quick glance at that product and didn't see anything regarding a "ph perfect situation". It's probably like Canna a&b, where you still ph after mixing. Take shop employees recommendations with the proverbial grain of salt. They don't always have your best interest at heart. It's better to perform your own due diligence.

Every nutrient line I used was "pH perfect". I mix into EC 0.25 water or into RO water and every time is comes to pH 6.2-6.4.

The money you could save running a different nutrient line would buy lots of PH pens. The moment you have any issues the one thing anyone trying to help will want to know is PH. Medium and nutrient solution.

No one here is trying to make money of you. The grow store is. It’s nice to buy some things to maintain a local relationship. But lights and nutrient lines buyer beware.

As for PH perfect, there are a lot of misconceptions and poor information regarding the products and their abilities. They have synthetics in them that are able to be absorbed (chelated) over a wider range but work best within the specified ranges given. They in effect should be more forgiving but there are more posts in the infirmary than you can imagine from growers expecting them to be effortless corrections for poor situations.

Hope any of that helps at all

Thanks for the advice.what ph pen would you recommend I get?thanks

I’ve been using the blue lab PH pen. I store it in the 7.0 liquid. Bought online two years ago for $79 and it’s never let me down. Calibrates every time.

If you are a soil grower you’ll need the Accurate 8 soil PH probe also. You can get away with running cheap nutrients ( Megacrop) and you can grow plants with very efficient and well priced lights. Cobshop, HLG quantum boards or if you have to knock offs or some of the new mars. You can even save money and buy the Miracle Grow organic potting mix.

But make sure you understand that PH meters along with Extraction and humidity are all going to play big roles in the in a successful grow. Set your expectations reasonably for you first grow and you’ll be pulling big numbers before you know it. Wanting to pull pounds out the gate will usually end up not going well. Unless you are dumping money into replicating an exact and existing system and growing strains that have already been tested and proven to run in that system under conditions you can duplicate.

I have been using the Apera PC60 for a while now. The probe is replaceable, which saves a few bucks. Its been a consistent ph pen.

I just started seeds in soil and need a pH measurement tool STAT for watering purposes. My budget's minimal so short term price beats long term savings, but I don't want to damage my plants with an unreliable meter, either.

I saw an Apera 20, their economy unit, for about 45 with shipping.

Would you say the economy version is worth it/reliable?

Many of us got by with the cheapy yellow ones for a while, but you buy them often.
The apera will do you better. Make sure to have calibration fluids, and storage fluids. They will extend the life of your meter.
