Brand of PH meter: Dr.Meter® 0.1pH

measures: Ph 0-14

Cost: $18.99 on amazon

Link to where you bought it: http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Meter®-Tem...=UTF8&qid=1426103740&sr=8-2&keywords=PH+meter

Positive Points: Cheap. Seems to get the job done.

Negative
points: I have to calibrate it about every 4th or 5th use. It came with some solutions but now I use coffee Ph. 5 and milk ph. 6.7 to calibrate. It was hard to calibrate at first. Directions are not real clear but best to let it soak for 20 minutes before using first calibration solution.

Would you buy it again..? I would if I was on a budget (which I usually am). IMHO it is mandatory to maintain your Ph and this is a cheap alternative to Ph strips.

do you mean soak in calibr solution for 20 mins or in water??? just ordered this yesterday

Would you buy it again..?

Yes, but hopefully it will last a year or two first.

Firstly, here are the three I have tried so far. The yellow no name one was first, it was screw calibration, and it stopped functioning properly within a month. The second one up was purple and cost 15$ US, it was a constant nightmare to adjust pH with it. It proved to be off by more than 1 pH consistently. The third one is the Apera pH meter. It rocks my world, but cost 60$ US on Amazon.

I had a hard time believing how far off I had been with pH previous to using this meter. I checked calibration on both the purple one and the Apera several times. I had been operating a whole point or up to 2 points off and it was no wonder I had so much trouble. For the three months or so I have been using this meter I have had zero problems with pH related, or nutrient related problems. My plants are now growing faster and larger. Thanks to the Apera meter. It runs on rechargeable aaa batteries, and it has temperature compensation. It comes in a hard case with it's own calibration solutions. The calibration solution bottles are sized so you can just stick the meter in without having to pour it or measure it. It easily calibrated with a few button pushes, and has remained accurate since. I rinse it after every use, and fill the cap with water for storage. I am so confident in it that I can now leave for a day or three without worrying about the reservoir.

Dude I just went to do the same review I too used the cheap 15 dollar ones and bought one every 3 months but my readings were all over the place even with extra calibrations. I found the Apera p20 and liked what i saw i bought it and was imediatly impressed by how simple accurate and the quality of this tester for the money. If you grow hydro or coco and need a good ph tester for under 100 this is it. Lab quality and easy to use. I love this item.

Just got this:
