Hello all. Used to growing in coco. Thought I'd swicth the next grow up a bit and bought a bag of Dinasty organics dark matter super soil. I am gona try an all organic grow. I love green planet nutrients so I may try the Medi One kit. Or if anyone has an organic nutrient brand they recommend I'd love to hear it. But I guess my main.question is do I ph my feed the same as regular soil or is it a different ph cause its ammended organic? Thanks

Might see if the trial kit from Oregon's constant gardner (nectar for the gods) is available. Cost of shipping should get you through a round.

Should pH as regular soil.

I'll look into that. Thanks for the input. The shop I buy my nutes from has some new stuff by a company called Evolve. It's a 3 part set. Just cant find much info on it so I'm reluctant to try it out.

Hello! I see you're thinking about going the organic route. It's definitely a different world than when growing in coco.. There will be a ton of basic research you'll want to start looking into..

For example.. Here are a few things that are common in an organic grow..

-no ph'ing.. I don't know many, if any organic growers that ph anything durring their grows..

Bottled nutes.. Most organic growers steer clear of bottled nutes.. Many lines say they are "organic" but aren't in reality. Most organic growers brew teas and use dry amendments if and when needed. Many are water only from seed to harvest.

Those are just a few things to keep in mind when considering organics.. The super soil you have is most likely a water only soil, so don't get to gung-ho about nutrient lines! If it's a good/great soil, you won't be needing anything else. That's the true point/purpose of organics..

Ok . So with that information on gona go half ass organic hahaha. The soil will feed for a month is what I was told. I was on the phone with a guy from Green planet about the Medi One grow kit. And after whati have read about it online I'm convinced it's pretty legit. And to be honest I love the Green Planet Nutrients. So since my seeds are popped I guess I'll stick with what I know for this run. I'm very interested in the whole tea and dry amendments deal so I'll do some research during this grow to hopefully be ready for the new grow. Thanks alot for the input. I'm glad to know there are some knowledgeable growers on here I can get some info from. Cheers

No problem.. One of things you will learn in your organic research is that companies want to make money off of you... For example.. The soil says it has enough food in it to feed for a month... What they mean is, that's how much food is readily available to plant when you open the bag.. When in reality, every thing in that soil is still useful food for the plant.. Adding microbes and bokashi to the soil breaks down the organic matter in the soil and converts it to usable plant food. They don't tell you that, because they want you to buy another bag of soil, or bottled nutrients in a month or so.. But that one bag you have can be re used over and over and over again by simply adding organic amendments to make more food available.

The soil was an impulse buy haha. An un educated purchase some may say. All good I'll just roll with it. Keep a close eye on it. I'm sure I can make it work. I'll just ask arround here if I have any questions. Thanks again. Sure do preciate it

be sure to add some mycorrhizal fungi to your super soil after planting
this will help keep your root zone in tip top condition
rather than bottled nutes you can look into using compost/and or worm castings teas
Guano and molasses as a pk booster and carb boost
Dolomite lime to sweeten the soil and add beneficial calcium
and epsom salts for magnesium

Thanks for the info. I'm gona use the Green planet Medi one along with the Ocean Magic and some other all natural additive this run. But I'm gona spend the next couple months researching all that stuff your talking about so I can be on point when I do my next run. Tha ks for the info. Cheers
