Hi,

I'm so confused.
This is the first time I'm using biobizz nutes and light-mix soil. The website say is not necessary check ph of the water because the soil will balance it. My tap water ph is 8.1-8.2 if I make the 3.5L of feeding water 1ml/L grow , 2lm root juice, 1 ml alg-a mic, 1ml bio haven its going down to 7.0-7.1. The problem is I'm in the first week with 3 plants in 3 gal pots and I adjusted the nute/water solution to ph 6.5 but even before I prepared soil with ph 6.5 water, and weird marks started to appear on the leaves , is it possible is because I gave ph water to them? Shall I flush them out with normal tap water and let the soil do the job?
The other thing I'm curious about is what do i have to do if later on i will add more nutes to the water, I guess it will go way below ph 6 What do I have to do then, can i add some ph+ solution, or the soil will do it?
Its so manny different comments around this topic, someone says I don't need to adjust ph, someone say yes, and someone no I don't but sometimes yes.
So now I'm absolutely lost.

Thanks,
Lenny

Hey Lenny, I am pretty new too and I have had a few good grows but my fair share of problems as well. As long as your soil and water end up between 6-7 ph you should be ok. My initial thought is that you are adding nutes to early. Most of what I have read says no nutes until week two or three. I would keep PHing my water to 6.5 or round about but back off the nutes for a few waterings. Good luck my friend. Always post pics if you can and you have come to the right place. Lots of knowledge here and everyone is real helpful.

I just saw your pics. I am still getting use to new site. Those don't look bad. I think you are on your way.:pass:

Hi and welcome to AFN Lenny!

From the looks of the leaf in the picture, it looks to me like you may have your self some thrips, and not PH related. Not to worry though, a little Neem Oil will take care of them.

1 guy is correct, no need to start feeding until end of week 2. So just water for now. Flushing is ALWAYS a last resort, and from the looks of it you don't need to or want to at this point. Plant looks healthy, with the exception again of what looks like the start of thrips. Please don't freak out though! They are easily controlled.

Concerning the PH, if it were me, I would go ahead test, and correct the PH in your nutrient solution through out your grow. But, again that is just what I have found using liquid nutes, even most Organic Nutrients, with the exception of General Organic Nutrients. I have NO experience with Biobuzz Nutrients.

I would also highly recommend that you get your self a good soil ph tester. These are what most of us soil/soil-less growers here use. Amazon product ASIN B004PDNQOK

Hope this helps, and again welcome to AFN!

Peace.

I took more pics.

They looks a bit weird for me.
Anyway, thanks for the replies

Hey guys,

I found this on biobizz website about the lightmix.

"The pH-and EC value of Light·Mix®
Biobizz® products have not been produced with mineral salts but with organic elements. These organic elements are impossible to measure. However, the elements have a self-regulating system, which maintains the values at the correct level."

According to this the ph soil tester doesnt work.
Should I check the runoff water?

Lenny, it wouldn't hurt, then we can rule it out. Please let us know what it is.

Your seedlings don't look bad at all, with the exception of that one leaf.
Sometimes some variegation can show up in a leaf or two, which is nothing to worry about. But, it still looks like thrips from your pictures.

:peace:

Im groing indoor in a DR60 in my spare room. Do u think they can get in?
Okay, i will check the runoff water on all 3 of them.

HI Lenny :)

Welcome to AFN

I'm gonna invite you over to the Introduction part of the forum an we will give you a nice warm AFN welcome.
It is a great way to meet some lovely members and soak up some of our famous AFN friendly vibe, that's how we roll :D

Here's a link for ya bud - https://www.autoflower.org/index.php?forums/introductions.35/

It's good to see you have found the new growers section :) next thing to do is start up a journal, it's a place where we can follow the progress of your grow and where we will be able to see what help you might need.

We have some great growers and they will be sure to help if you need a hand.

Include as many details as you can, it just helps to know how to advise you when you need some help.
Size of grow space, type of light and it's Wattage and of course nutes and medium your growing in ;)

Here is a Biobizz feeding chart for ya if you haven't already got one.

biobizz_grow_chart.jpg

Soil is a good medium to buffer nutrients and BioBizz nutes have been designed to work with their soils.

The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5 and for groundwater systems 6 to 8.5 BioBizz will have taken this into consideration whilst formulating their nutes and soils.

The streaks can happen to young plants and could be due to genetics or soil pathenogens, it should clear up once the plant gets it wiggle on.

Until recently I was a BioBizz grower (got some free nutes and decided to try coco at the same time so not currently using BioBizz) and I always used a dosing syringe to measure my nutes accurately.

It is probably a good Idea to have some Calmag handy in case of a calmag def which is one of the most common deficiencies and often shows up around week 4 especially under LED lights.

Don't forget to allow the soil dry out a little between waterings, get used to how heavy your pots are after watering and let them feel a bit lighter before watering again. Don't allow to them dry out completely though.

I look forward to your journal and wish you all the best with your grow

Peace

Arty
