Grow Mediums Pack soil or no?

While filling my 5 gallon fabric pots with soil I tightly pack the soil near the edge of the pot. Maybe a couple inches in and leave the middle unpacked.

I got in the habit of this but now I'm rethinking this in that I might be limiting the air.

Next grow I won't pack at all.

What's your opinion?

My understanding is that autoflowers like really loose airy soil. I wouldn't pack. That being said, I do tamp my down a little just to make it look nice and even. But I don't press hard.

I drop the pot a few time as I fill to even out the medium.

I pack it a little bit just to make sure I get pot full as you lose a couple inches once you start watering when it kind of packs itself down. I wouldn't think you'd want to tight pack it for sure.
