A few year back I bought an Oxy Pot DWC bubbler, however I love to grow organic in soil so never got round to using it.

I have seen some amazing auto grows using DWC and am thinking of draging it out of the cupboard and giving it a go.

The thing I'd like to know is would there be any benefit using an ozone generator with an air stone to super oxygenate the water.
Normal air pumps just pump atmospheric air which is a mix of oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogren (which in its gaseous form is unusable by plants) and a few inert gases.

The ozone generator i bought is design to be used in an aqarium and comes complete with airstone and non-return valve.

Ozone is used in water purification, killing pathenogens such as bacteria and fungus so was thinking this would be useful to stop such nasties as pythium.

Any thoughts or expiriences will gratefuly recieved.

Peace

Hi, i wouldn't use it all the time, ozon isnt as harmless as you might think!

I believe it isn't possible to disolve more oxygen in water by using ozone.
the free radicals will destroy everything in the water, also the good ones!

Apply a timer and use it every day for like 15 minutes, to lower the pathogen concentration without killing everything!:2cents:

O2 is not O3 read up the 3rd molecule is unstable and will combine with any organic compound such as bacteria, which it kills creating CO2..

Ozone caused some serious problems in a couple of my plants early on in my growing career. I literally flipped it off one day and saw immediate improvement that night. Would avoid it if possible, a simple air pump and stone setup can yield results in the bottom of a no or low-drain organic setup if you're concerned with root zone oxygenation :smokeit:
