What fruits and veggies do you guys plan to grow this year? Which are good to use as a stealth method with canna?

Also do any of you outdoor growers plant specific flowers that give off a strong scent to mask the canna smell?

I usually grow watermelons, green peppers, strawberries, green beans, ice burg lettuce, Romain lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, few other things.

Can't wait to start, nothing like fresh hone grown food

Hi growbeast...nice garden you have there. Sounds like you live in a temperate climate. I'm in the tropics and have papaya (first year of fruiting), mango, banana (ornamental), mint, lemongrass, citrus lime and kaffir lime.

For camouflage, lemongrass in pots or in soil could be a good bet. It grows fast and tall, looks like a big clump of grass, but is airy enough not to block any light. Couldn't be easier to grow: if you find a stalk of lemongrass with some roots still on it, plant it in pots or the ground, or take a cutting and root it - How to Grow Lemongrass.

I've only grown outdoors on the balcony, so haven't felt the need to mask the smell (lots of exotic scents in the air anyway). Best of luck.

Well there you go , I have just today planted some Guinea grass to help hide a out door grow for after the wet season , grows about 6 ft tall , I have a area close to the house that I have cut out of the bush and needed to fill in some gaps , the last thing I thought I would ever do was plant Guinea grass as it is a pest here in the tropics ,

That's awesome guys, my garden sounds boring compared to all those exotic plants you can grow in the tropics. I would be happy to just get an orange tree to survive. Thanks for thew responses.

Canna i checked out that link, great read thank you

I can't think of anything that would mask the smell, but to hide the plants I use raspberries the only problem is you have to plan ahead about 5 years to let them get good and thick

I only wish I could grow lemongrass but I live too far north, I tried last summer but the seeds didn't take I might try again this summer it's supposed to keep misquotes away.

marigolds give off a strong smell, tomatoes work good to hide stuff

Be careful if you use marigolds some give off the near exact same smell as weed, it takes a good nose to tell the difference which any normal member of the public can't do.
honeysuckle is a good mask and jasmine both give off strong sweeet smells
