Hello all
newbie here and this is my first official post. After getting killed in zone 6 east coast last year with storms and humidity>rot, I’m going to give outdoor another shot

I’m thinking about trading off weekly applications of BT and zerotol.

Thinking that a fogger may be helpful for the 6 or 7plants. This Petra device has good reviews, but I see it’s electric and I don’t think I can get a cord to some areas of my garden.

So this raises two questions for the experienced sages ofthis forum? Is a fogger better than a sprayer?

Secondly, is there a battery operated product ianyone would recommend?

My priority here would be something that does not break in a month or two …

Thanks in advance

What are you trying to keep away with BT? Zerotol is for cleaning and can harm plants like Sanidate 5.0, they are like concentrated vinegars.

Anyways, fogger with a product like Dr Zyme could be beneficial, I'm not too familiar with IPM methods for outdoors though. Peppermint Castile could be someone as well

Thanks for,the reply….bt is for caterpillar prevention …zerotol for mold prevention

I believe it was @GreenBean who said Dr Zyme deals with mold and can be used through flower. I wouldn't use Zerotol. Micronized sulphur can be used but not past stretch, CEASE can be used through flower.

Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki is what you're going to use for Caterpillars?

Yes Dr. Zymes works really well on mold and mites as well as other things. And can be used the whole grow. If you type Dr Zymes free sample into google, it'll take you to a page where you pay like $3 shipping and get enough Dr Z to make a gallon of solution to try it out. I've seen it eliminate PM on plants overnight. It can be used in the veggie garden as well.

It doesn't help with stuff like caterpillars, grasshoppers, etc. Those things are MF. At least where I live. Insect netting, the finer, the better is best for that. Just have to be careful that the netting is fine enough to not catch any little birds feet in it.

Fogger vs sprayer? YMMV on either. I just used a sprayer. Did my spraying at dusk.

One thing I do find is that if you veg the photos indoors under decent lights for a few months, top them, train them, keep them low and healthy. Then put them outside, they will explode into trees. And be a lot hardier and resilient. Ended up having to repot most of my last outdoor run. Easy to do with fabric pots because you can just cut the fabric pots off and repot into a larger fabric (or whatever) without disturbing the roots at all.
