I may be in the wrong spot here . But here is a stupid question , I seem to think most autos seems to be geared for indoor grows , I understand the light thing , but why can't they be made to be a outdoor plant as well , not just a strain that can be grown outdoor but one that is breed for outdoor , I can see a lot of advantages for a strain breed for outdoor . Now you smart buggers out there breeding whats the go , I be thinking one of ya must be looking at doing this , lot easier to hide a heap of little fellers in the bush .

Now if this is a question that A Dingo shit out a Galar that pecked a wombat who stepped on a croc's tail that ate my mud craps all is good . [ work that out ]

Not A Dingo Shit ........question at all mate ! :Sharing One:Auto FrisianDew from DP is an outdoor specific plant (click the ad at top of page !) ,but lots of auto's do great & have seen some nice Gorilla grows done with auto's .They are pretty pest & mold resistant

Hecno, many autos are OK for outside. The seedlings just need to survive the first 4 weeks of extreme heat or over/under watering, insects having a feast. After around week 4 they can take a little abuse and yield 20+ grams each. You know your weather when it is not too hot or too wet to start seedlings in the bush. Do not grow all together.... 10 here and another 10 5 minutes away etc. Allow for theft or cops.

Encourage recommendations on when to seed from other members that live in the semi tropics like Florida and south america. They will have experience to help you. Just avoid stressing the auto seedlings early on and you should do well but why not use photos?

Dingo I do grow photos , just like to play around , got plenty of room outside . go.jpg

Some Sativa Super Autos might be worth the effort outside in the bush. 120 to 160 days to harvest top notch sativa.....yum.

My girls have 20 generations of outdoor breeding and growing.
I also grow them year round..so they have been outdoor in less than 10 hours Natural light and down to minus 2 'C.

Saying that though..we had a North Norweign grower on AFN who says that Most Autos would actually grow reasonably well on his extreme conditions. :tiphat:

Bet your Dragons would love some Ozzy sun Mossy :Sharing One:

Yup..they have been out quite a bit in the Ozzy sun..they stand temps of above 50'C in Pots on my patio..sometimes I have to worry that I am Steaming the roots when I water..and in extreme heat with a strong wind I have been known to go out and drench the whole plant every couple of hours to save them from Cooking..
but they all Survive..:coffee2:..just a question of Knowing your conditions.

Also Acclimatise them..my M8 gave me his Autos that had been bred completely under lights indoors..they were Softer than my girls in the first Winter..which is Extreme in Light levels..but by the second winter they were almost as hardy as my girls.

It Literally IS Survival of the Fittest.

You Breed on the ones that Do Survive and Thrive. :tiphat:

Hecno bro, I love your back yard:Sharing One::Cool bud:

I think only very few exceptions in auto strains are bred outdoors, or with any outdoor testing.
The growers(seed buyers) have to see/test how a particular strain does in their OD environments. For example the FrisianDewAuto seems to be made for outdoors but in fact I heard far more complaints than praising.
So things are not straight, at least two generations of outdoor selection should be done for some outdoor hardiness, in my opinion(no breeding experience, just imagination).
I happen to have quite a lot of outdoor bred auto seeds which I'm gonna test(throw out and wait) this season, very happy about it:) Maybe something good pops out.
