Hi all,

I'm a newb and have just come across this amazing forum.

I currently have a grow in progress, 2 x Critical Mass Auto and 2 Turbo Diesel Auto (NYC Diesel x Blueberry).

My set-up is as follows:-

1 X Cabinet lined with flat white plastic reflective sheeting approximately 3FT Wide by 1 1/2 Deep and 5 high. The cabinet has an air intake at the bottom and small exit at the top, a small carbon filter ducted out of the top and powered by a 4inch inline fan to the rear.

The lighting consists of 1 x 250W red spectrum CFL and 1 x 125W dual red and blue spectrum CFL.

The air is circulated via a 6 inch clip-on fan.

I am using Biobizz Grow and Bloom base nutes with Algamic. Biobizz light mix medium and tap water left for 24 hours then PH'd down to 6.8.

Now this only my second grow, the previous being relatively unsuccessful but purely down to inexperience, impatience and maybe too much interference. I'm sure everybody has been there though eh?

I've decided to go organic this time being interested more in quality than quantity and also having had issues previously with overdosing and burning some plants I thought organic may be little more forgiving.

The TD's were germinated via shot glass and paper towel method and placed in 6 1/2 litre pots on 1st November making them 18 days old today. The critical mass auto were germinated via the same method and placed into 11 litre pots on 10th November making them 9 days old today. I count their age from the day they are placed in pots and not when they appear above soil as I believe they have begun life as soon as the tap root appears from the seed. I then left a slight gap to the top of the pots with the soil level and cling-filmed the top until signs of life appeared above soil. I started them separately as I wanted to stagger them slightly in order to give the TD's a head start under the blue side of the 125W CFL before moving them to under the 250W red.

I will take exact measurements and post pictures later but they are all thriving at the moment under a constant 18/6 light regime, temps of an average of 75 - 80 degrees and humidity of 40-50%. The seeds were germinated with a very weak mix of water and Hesi root stimulator. I have found this helps the germination process and enables me to transplant the seeds into their pots a lot quicker.

At present the TD's are being fed a mix of water, algamic and biogrow. They are now upto 2ml per litre of biogrow and 1ml per litre of algamic and ph'd to 6.8.

The critical mass have just had their first feed of 1ml of biogrow per litre and 1/2 ml of algamic. I forgot to mention for the first 7 days or so I just give them PH'd water at 6.8 due to the light mix of nutes in the medium.

I am going to conduct an experiment from the next feed. I am going to use just on one of the TD's and Critical Mass, Biogrow, Biobloom and then additional Topmax and on others Biobizz grow and bloom and a range of Aptus boosters at very little amount. .2 ml per litre as they are super concentrated and I will keep this thread updated regularly with the progress.

Anyway, sorry to blab on a little. I'm off to grow.

Cheers for looking.

Peace:lol:

sounds good mate welcome

cheers Griever.

I'm getting very excited about this auto grow and can see loads of progress daily. Pics should be on tomorrow. Really interested to see if these Aptus boosters really live up to their hype as I can only find minimal info on them and certainly none relating to using them with auto's. The guy at the expo where i got the samples from put an interesting case across without sounding too much like a salesman and I'm keen to keep everything as organic as possible as this fruit is for me and my better half to consume.

With both variety's I'm using, one plant is a couple of days ahead of the other so I plan to use the Aptus boosters on the ones slightly behind to see if they catch-up and even overtake the others.

Cheers for all the views peeps and please keep checking back regularly. I can't believe the amount of quality auto info on here and don't know how I did not find this forum earlier.

Happy growing / blazing :toke:

Well the Aptus experiment has begun. I've just fed the critical mass autos. Gave the one slightly behind ph'd water, approximately 0.2 ML of Aptus regulator and 1ml of Biobizz grow and the slightly larger one just water and 1ml of Biobizz grow. I plan to also add 0.2ml of Aptus Enzyme + on the next feed and then follow this until I see some lady parts. Then boom boom bloom. topb

The TD's will need feeding tomorrow and I plan to begin bloom nutes. I'm going to give the larger one 1ml per litre of Biobizz grow and 1ml of Bloom and a shot of Epsom salts. The other slightly smaller one will get the same with added Aptus regulator. I'm gonna hold off their other boosters for now. I have their premium collection P & K boosters, Enzyme + and also their Topboost but have had to adjust their feeding schedule slightly to accommodate the fact I'm growing auto's and not photo-period plants.

I will get some pics on for definite tomorrow as have a little time on my hands so you can visualise what I'm doing a little easier.

Peace out peeps for now

I'm tagging along for this one bro cant wait til you get some pics up.

cheers bro, I'm really excited. If the Aptus boosters are half as good as they are billed to be I may be onto something. Really glad I can do a fair side-by-side comparison so I can see.

Although I'm a newb to this I'm not afraid one little bit to experiment within reason, so I'm hoping to push the boundaries and become an auto pioneer ha-ha

Be positive buddy and keep doing what you're doing :smokebuds:

Oh forgot to mention, they were all fem seeds and I am also using C02 tablets dissolved in a separate container in the cabinet. Please can anyone who has any experience of this kind of C02 supplement in a small grow area let me have their thoughts good or bad. Any noticeable difference or am I just wasting money on them?

They are advertised as slow release tablets and from what I could see on other forums, people used to put them in their reservoirs but they do leave a lot of residue. The hydro shop I got them from advise you to place them in a separate container. I've been using them since the start of this grow every other day with the fan off for an hour or so and nothing bad so far. Everything looks miles better this time but it could be a combination of other things I've done to make things better. I think I'll start a new thread and see what the experts say about them.

okay well keep in mind i'm a newbie but I would have to say they are a waste of time. The most evident piece of information which is correct stated that roots absorb oxygen and not c02 which is 100% correct therefore I would believe these to be a waste of time and possibly counter productive.
