I live in a regulated state. I've successfully ordered from the "EU" for many years, decades in fact. The advantage, as I understand it, is that with customs you only lose your seeds and get a note saying there was contraband in the package. No further action is taken.

With all the new domestic sources, buying within the USA seems to be easiest. However, I am concerned that should a package be considered "interesting" to the authorities they may begin surveillance. If I have to sign to receive a product they disagree with they could take action.

What is the current thinking on this? Does the old school method provide a layer of security that domestic USPS does not?

?????

I buy and ship seeds all over the world in my experience I lose the seeds 2 and from canada and Australia most often. Domestically I have yet 2 have an issue with a package

Canada but I live in Canada.
When i lived in the states i would get my seeds out of Oregon

if your seeds are being sent stealth and they get intercepted ... you need to find a better seedbank

Personally, I've never had seeds intercepted. This is my understanding of what happens if a shipment is discovered by customs. I don't have any figures on how often this happens and I doubt they exist except as anecdotes.

I'm in the US and most of my seeds have come from England and Spain. All made it to me.

I've been buying seeds for 14 yrs...from a bunch of different sources...every one have made it me in the SE USA.
The 3-4 weeks of anticipation has been shortened a bit with stateside bean distributors.

I like Sensible Seeds payment option. You can pay them with Amazon gift cards. You can buy the cards from the U.S. or UK Amazon sites. Plus they add five seeds from a strain that you pick.

I realized that my purchasing habits were formed in the 80s when there were no U.S. seed sources. The only option was to buy from Europe. So, people were very concerned with customs at that time.
