I live in a regulated state. I've successfully ordered from the "EU" for many years, decades in fact. The advantage, as I understand it, is that with customs you only lose your seeds and get a note saying there was contraband in the package. No further action is taken.
With all the new domestic sources, buying within the USA seems to be easiest. However, I am concerned that should a package be considered "interesting" to the authorities they may begin surveillance. If I have to sign to receive a product they disagree with they could take action.
What is the current thinking on this? Does the old school method provide a layer of security that domestic USPS does not?
