I've got a question for the collective brains here at AFN. I've got an Mi5 that is 22 days old, though it's smaller than normal because I was forced to move it outside into ~50 degree temps for several days last week. No other plants in the tent are showing signs of preflower, and neither was this one when I last checked it around 36 hours ago. Today I was surprised to see this odd growth that looks like a male preflower with a pistil growing out of it:
Has anybody seen something like this before? At the top of the plant I see what may be the start of some female calyxes with pistils, but I was not able to capture them with my camera. Yesterday I saw what I thought were the early stages of male flowers, but overnight they opened up into new leaves. Below is a shot of some similar structures that have appeared since then:
At this point I don't want any pollen blowing around the tent, though I don't see any pistils on the other plants yet so it wouldn't be a huge problem at this stage. I guess at this point I just need to wait another day or so to see how things progress, but I figured I'd see what everyone else thought about this. Sorry for the crappy pics, but time was limited and it's a real pain trying to capture such a small area with the macro lens. Thanks for reading!
