I'm a patio farmer, pretty low tech but I'm learning to cross my t's and dot my I's. Anyway this past weekend I ventured into my local hydroponic shop with the intention of buying some decent go juice. Well, standing there in front of about 300 bottles of nutrients was a little intimidating. After a while of reading and trying to remember some things that I have read about I asked the dude at the counter for help. He was very helpful and turned me onto a botanicare product hydroplex ( 0-10-6 ) as a base and F.F. tiger bloom ( 2-8-4 ).
All that to ask. What is the purpose of using the two in conjunction? Is this a good mix? Is this enough nitrogen or should I look for something high in N as well?

Welcome! I wouldn't be using hydroplex as a base, though. Is this for a complete grow from start to finish or do you already have some veg ferts in the soil? You'd want more nitrogen, less phosphorous and more potassium. I'd been using hydroplex in my hydro grows, but don't like how it's so hot on the P and not pushing more K. I'm going to be starting a whole new world in ferts soon with very low P during veg and much higher K than P in flower. K is what'll add the amount and weight of flowers as far as nutrients go. Low P nutes will help to limit stretching, too.

For a base, though, I'd look at a more complete nutrient. My leaves stay green until I harvest unlike most here that time it so the leaves yellow up before they harvest.

I think you should just get an organic bloom liquid a decent size pot and premium compost and you should be able to pull of a decent grow with an auto. if you can get biobizz i did a starter guide in the nutrient section for no hassle growing or just keep the tiger bloom

Hey thanks a lot, going to check it out. Also, have a photo plant going was looking pretty good until recently. Have been over several deficiency charts including on this site.....still confused. I'll try to put some pics up later do they go to the infirmary or photo?

if your a new grower there Quixotic then imo you should start organic. it is really hard for someone to burn there plants w/ organic were as chem nutes is really easy. look into general hydrponics organic line, its served me very well. happy growing!

btw, welcome to the site...theres no other like her...!
