UPDATES ON THEIR RESPECTIVE WEEK!

Hey everyone!

I thought i'd get a journal going for the most recent addition (currently near the end of week 1 of veg)-a seed i found while smoking some rec Silver Surfer. Was a pretty good smoke so figured i'd give this one a try-and it popped awhile back.

The seedling phase was done DWC in another bin i had, along side a photoperiod Sour Diesel and a companion Basil plant. RIGHT when i was gathering materials for the 2 dwc buckets (was going to leave the basil and keep it bushy for next seedlings), and simultaneously snapping pictures :( , i dropped my phone on my Basil plant boo. To top this off i think i had a humidity/temperature issue with the sour diesel because she, all of sudden, lost her stem strength and just laid down. I didn't want to slow down the Silver Surfer since it was doing well-so i moved the two recovering plants to my propagation/ebb-flow chamber. Since then they both are doing great-and actually i'm going to be probably giving the sour diesel another week and i'll try and see about getting her in to a bucket of her own and a journal up. For anyone that wants to see-i've included a pic of the DWC bin with all 3 their last week together, within the week 1 photos.

I'm going to do this one the same as i did my first-using google albums for the most part-hopefully that isn't an issue. Just easier to organize photos... and a LOT more storage ;)

Without further adoooooooooo....

Norrin Radd (Silver Surfer) Week 1 VEG:

Nutes: FoxFarms Hydro Schedule week 1 at 1/2 dose * 3 gallons
Light On Temp: 77-80F
Light Off Temp: 68-71F
Humidity: ~45-50 depending on the time of day (currently flowering an auto)
Lights: BESTVA 600w Full Spectrum grow panel (advertised as "compared to 250w HPS consuming 125w at wall)
Light Distance: Started the week at 24"-slowly over the week lowered to 12" for my flowering auto which sits beside it.

So right off the bat i have questions lol-i cannot know if this is a photo/auto since it was a found seed-so i was attempting to treat as a photo just to be safe. I didn't see much issue with light cycle since the tent is flowering an auto on 18/6. However, and again-no experience here haha, i've noticed that this grow, compared to my White Widow Auto, is nice and compact node spacing-but a LOT more active around each node-a LOT more activity... is it starting to flowering? did i screw up the lights haha?

Other than that her root ball is looking good-the pictures don't do it justice. I've been trying to keep a sharp eye on my res to ensure it's staying clean-and actually this bucket is running the smoothest. Probably because it is the largest res i have at 3 gallons haha. Anyway-her little root ball is developing-no slime or anything and the roots all look "individual" and LOTS of hairs smaller hairs everywhere.

5/21/2018 - End of week 1 veg and growth definitely exploded. Root growth is amazing. I FIM'd and response i think has been good-but we'll see how i week 2. I'd love to know if anyone would maybe want to weigh in on how/when they would start LST and maybe what they would do-as i'm still trying to figure out how to actually do it correctly. Here are the current pics!

Hey Brother, things are looking very good. I didn't see mention of hydroguard, SM 90, or food grade h202. Usually you want one of those three things in your res to help reduce the chance of anaerobic bacteria getting a start. It's a great way to be able to get through some warmer spells that might be difficult otherwise.

Never....I say never try to smoke Silver Surfer and Bruce Banner back to back, or you are gonna have a conflict of buzzes!!!

Sorry I should have put that in there. Fox farms veg week 1 and hydroguard at recommended strength for 3 gallons (I calculated it out to be 0.75 mL for 3 gallons- 3/8 of a gallon (6 cup in reservoir)

I have been running a 7 day res change cycle-does anyone have any other thoughts on that? I'm thinking to myself, as today would be the day i change it out, the numbers are still in range, looks clear, growth BOOMED this week... so... is there a reason to change it-or should i just keep topping it off as usual until it becomes hard to maintain? Or is it better to just be consistent-up to now all my reservoirs always change every 7 days.
