Hey guys I'm newer love the sight alot of good info. Did 1 other grow successfully. Doing my first auto grow along w 2 others now Dp Td. I have a closet that's 8x8 super secluded I'm gonna turn into a grow room. I grow in soil now and it's easy though I'm no pro. I trying to decide between autopots, Dwc, and top feed. I have plenty lights 1000w a 400w and a 300w led though I'm waiting for this new Gn led to come out. I will get more lights as needed. I got a portable ac for room, dehumidifier, and a big pharma grade air filter near room. I need opinions on best route. I got money just need to know best route far as investment vs ease of use and yield I know it's an art and either way I'll be learning alot. Thanks for the help

Point of information for you. These good folks here aren't commercial growers (most anyway).
The focus is on growing great bud to be used for medicine or recreational purposes whichever comes first.

Autopots...... just go with Autopots..... they will knock your socks off, if done right.

This is a couple of my girls, at 31 days old, in autopots

Dwc and coco will give you some amazing results! My buddy has a 600w hps and one 5 gallon dwc setup and his girl is about 4'×4'.

With all that light you'll have on tap, you're gonna have a fkn forest in there! Looking forward to seeing everything once you decide! Cheers!

I grow Commercially and have some advice before you begin. Create a plan of action. How many plants you have room for based on pot size, Yield per plant, amps per light. Estimate the power bill based on your kwh rate and the wattage consumption of the lights. what size amps are your breakers? if you do 5 Lights or more i would suggest a sub panel thats dedicated for your growing equipment only. If your house has a 100 amp main panel you can add a 75 amp subpanel no problem just don't go over 75% of the max load as if you trip your main breaker switch and can't turn it back your facked. Three 20 amp Breakers and one 15 amp breaker. to add even more lights you could install 240 volt breakers which take up more space but use half the amps allowing twice the equipment! it does not save energy though as we are billed by kwh usage. if you really plan it out you can dominate. the largest indoor plants ive ever seen were dwc so its always a great option, even 5 gallon pots with soil and a drip system works great too, just remember the medium size makes a huge difference! If you want a big ROI with not as much work do a dwc system, get a ph pen and a ppm meter or the bluelabs autodoser so you dont have to worry about it. evrry method of growing is great and not one of them will be bad, if you have any other questions or want help to create a plan i can lay some out for you

Thank you. I've got a ppm pen and use the chemical pH but I'm gonna upgrade both. I believe I will try the Dwc I've got the stuff to do it.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO if you wanna go the ole DWC route holler at cher boy! I fux wit da watah lol Annnd I am just going to tell you right now if you already have an air pump it is most likely too small lol. The MOST important thing in DWC is your air pump and air stones, the formula I recommend is 10LPM(liters per minute) per gallon of water you are using in each site. If you have any questions don't hesitate to post them here and tag me with the @ then my name or you can always PM me

My vote goes to Octopots. Use your favorite soil or soil less media in the bag. Currently running super soil in them with amazing results. I have ran with ffof, coco, about any combo of media you can think of and they always kill. The secondary root zone is great for feeding with hydro nutes while not effecting the beneficial beasties in the soil above. I've messed up and let the res run dry, plant didn't care, she was still in 3-5 gals of soil and finished out without a hitch.

Air stones... I remember those days. Ever look into electrolysis, like the O2Grow? I bring this up as most don't realize that bubbling your res can cause several problems. It will make your pH swing up. If your airpump is in your grow space it is pumping air the same temp as the room it's probably already warmer than you want your res, not to mention the compressor will heat it slightly. If you run c02 get your air pump out of the room, c02 falls to the floor do to being heavier than air. Your pump will pick up the c02 and pump it into the root zone, roots don't respond well to c02.

Think about how much work you wanna do. DWC is great for performance but has a learning curve and some work involved. I would never recommend a second time grower set up a DWC without a buddy around that has experiance with that system. Too much can go wrong too quick, I have seen plants that look great one day and dead the next day do to small mistakes or a equipment failure.

This might be a cool grow for autos... Kratky method.

Look fimilar? There is a ton of science to back this. Its proven more efficent at adding DO to a res than an air stone.

Here is a cool comparison by a guy far from a scientist, still does great. Check out the root compairson, if you watch that DWC plant had preferred conditions for the first few days and is closer to the window.
