Newbie needing help !

New grower here!

First week of watering with nutes has gone well so far. But I did notice some very light discoloring on the base leaf of one my plants. Not sure if it’s anything to worry about or not. (Hard to see in the photo, it’s the blurry faint coloring on the bottom base of the leaf) could this be powdery mildew ? I need help trying to identify what this exactly is, thanks folks !

Will continue to monitor it and see how it moves forward. I examined all leaves, above/underneath and found no insects etc. Also looking to spray with neem oil as a preventative soon! When and how should I do this? I have read online that spraying young plants can be risky. Is this true ?

Thanks Man! Enjoying it so far!! You can check out my growdiary if you want a little more info. But the first 7 days just ph balanced water with a spray bottle. 2nd week I began the nutes.
cal mag- 2ml, Micro - 1ml, Gro - 1ml, Bloom - .5ml (per gallon) growing in coco coir 70/30 ratio. General hydroponics trio for nutes and cal mag

at this stage, new leavez can be in all diff kindz of, well, weird i pers don't see it as anything to worry bout, esp if it'z jus the one leaf...jus carry on as u are & keep an eye on jus me own 2 ctz & take w/salt plz ppp

Do you know anything about neem oil being sprayed on at this stage of life ? Is it safe ?

Agree about the leaf, likely grow out of it. I've never used or needed neem oil, I'd say no need yet

well, i meself have never had to do the neem thing, so... i know neem is good stuff tho, and let'z see what otherz might have to say bout uzin it at this stage of life, like mebbe @Arthur or @Mañ'O'Green ppp

Hey @Okie4 Welcome to AFN. The discoloration on the leaf looks like variegation to me (not a great picture, you should use 5000K white light for diagnostics) and is genetic and nothing to worry about.

I do not like neem personally since it is systemic and remains in the weed once introduced. If you need something pro active because you have had trouble with Powdery Mildew in the past I would use Serenade. Don't foliar spray very often - once a week at the most. Wet leaves are an attack surface for mildews.
