New Grower new to hps

Quick question, got my new tent and have never run hps lights before. This will be temporary since I will be running a blackstar next month. But for now I have the 150W hps the tent came with. My question is how far away from the plants should I keep the light. Right know it is roughly 12 inches. I have a RRF and a Mi5 at 10 days old. Thanks for any input. Peace to all

150 watters don't give off much heat so you should be able to get it pretty close. Place you hand, palm down, at the top of the plants and hold it there for 30 seconds or so. If it feels hot on the back of your hand, it's too hot for the plants.

Hey hey, once my blackstar comes, which will be during the flowering part, if I hook up the blackstar in place of the hps will that hurt my ladies at all? Thanks and much love

I Wouldn't of thought so, but me .. ive never used one so i cant say for sure Many people here do so im sure good advice will come your way, possibly muddy knows about this one

Here is a table i use, i go half way in the optimal range,any closer and i start to get heat issues, so for your light 8" should be good. Hope this is of use Hazy
