Hello everyone.
I'm fairly new to the auto game (growing photos for decades), so I have a couple basic autoflowering questions:

1.) when does resin production begin? I'm already seeing the signs of early flowering, and still no resin. Does it take longer in the process for autos as opposed to photoperiod plants? Here is a Triks (Twenty20) at day 33.

2.) I'm also wondering protocol on defoliation, is this done on autos too? or is this too stressful for autos? Here's a very leafy Triks...Can this be thinned out a bit?

Thanks and blessings everyone.

Genetics Will def come into play re: resin. As far as defoliation, many different opinions. Personally, I do, but I don’t goes crazy early on. Just enough to get light penetration. More than one way To grow. I have yet to see visible indication of stress on my plants, but I make sure to give them time to FULLY recover before I do any more plucking.

Same pre bud stage on my 1st auto, so tagging along here.

I was also afraid to trim, or top my plants, so I tied the top to the side of the pail, and winched it down over days. It worked really well. Later, when the pre buds you have appeared, I trimmed the leaves that blocked them, without issue.
I still haven't topped an auto.

That's always sound advice to not go crazy. I think I'm going to give your advice a try, and pluck a select few. Thanks.

Hey that's great to have company. I haven't topped an auto either, but a cinnamon beetle did for me last summer and the plant ended up phenomenal. great idea on the tie down. I'm going to trim a few off like you, this one is just too bushy to leave. Thanks.

I hope this helps explain. Not my idea by any means.

Try to get the original top of the plant lower than the peak of the arch you create. It won't happen at once.

The shoots that had been side are now all thinking they are top.View attachment 1422670

Thanks thats a great idea! I like the look of your plant, it worked well.
