Hello World.
Have used your AMAZING site for years now. great tips and tricks at every turn... SO many thanks there!!

any advice on my first soil hps autofem undertaking? my room tends to get a little too hot and have had some stuntage problems in the past, so I switched my veg to florescent- just as i do for my vegetable garden early spring crops- that need started when its still frozen outside, to good results... but im worried with the auto fem if my germination, veg, flower, should all be under HPS in my room with as little movement and repotting as possible. But then the heat problem returns.. any suggestions other than buying new lights for the heat issue). I rotate between 2 600 HPS lamps 2 400 HPS lamps and a 400 MH (for 1000-1400 max per grow... its a lot of heat i know. And duct work is not an option...

ANY helpful opinions would be greatly appreciated about any of this and autofem in general !!!! THANKS boys and girls :peace:.

welcome to the community, :smokebuds:start up a grow journal in the new grower forum, and you should have a lot of growers there to help you throughout your grow, if you run into any issues. Welcome again and enjoy all the knowledge that comes along with our home. And always remember the vibe here:vibe:

Welcome to the almighty AFN! Good luck sir!

How are you venting if you can't run ducting? Ventilation is really important for several reasons.

Welcome and as squid said correct ventilation is essential. Welcome! :peace:

:wiz: Welcome! Echoing what people are saying: a good ventilation system will go a long way in combating your heat issues.

Ventilation

Thanks for the welcome my fellow soldiers in the Drug War. While most of you all probably do not feel it as heavily as us East Coasters do, but regardless of what they say, this is still a war that ruins families and lives thousands of times over, daily, for decades... What a month we have had!!!! I have been in Drug Policy for the better part of 2 decades now, and this is hands down the best movement towards some form of sensible drug policy for marijuana since the late 19th century, in America at least.. The voters have spoken!!!

Sorry... onto the grow...

my ventilation has always been 2 oscillating fans, a ozone-ator with a carbon scrubber built in, but most importantly, the ventilation comes from a little door in the top of my room that opens straight to the attic... It works well to get SOME of the HPS heat out ( i actually was thinking of putting a fan at the top of the attic- slide- ceiling door...)

im not sure if im explaining this well enough, it's tuff to put into words, but its large closet attic access door in the ceiling. It pushes up and over. So i was thinking putting a 6-8" intake fan, turning it around into an outflow fan (does that work?), and running some duct work over to the corner of the attic and finding a spot to vent it out somehow in the corner that hangs out OUTSIDE into eaves...

these are the questions im having...anyone ever heard of anything like this?

My old house i had basement access, and NEVER had any problems with heat, so this has thrown me off for sure, and the results are noticeable... I use the same techniques and the outcome is different

again, THANK YOU ALL for any and all advise!!!

Ok let's recap. So you have a tent in a closet? Or just the closet? Either way, if you have a trap door type thing above the tent/grow is perfect. Get an inline fan to pull air out and into the attic. What size space are you working with?
