New set-up. Is it overkill?

Learned my lesson from the first grow... buy cheap, buy twice as they say.

Upgraded to a:

80x80x160 tent
600W Mars hydro
1000w light which is super bright but no branding

Is this too much/overkill for the tent size & growing 4 plants at a time, or it it the more light the better?

In my opinion the more the merrier, as long as the plants respond positively. You can always compensate by doing things like increasing airflow in and out of the tent, airflow within the tent, moving the lights up & apart from each other, and possibly adding c02.

That Mars is model #TS 600, not 600W. It's more like 95 to 103 watts, Not sure about the other one.

Usually youd want about 2000 to 3000 watts of leds in total. For a total of about 600 true watts. I'm growing 4 autos under a 2000 watt led right now. That's good coverage for a 3x3 area. 3000 to 4000 watts in LEDs cover a full 4x4 area depending on the light and make and design

Looks like a TS600 which is only 90-100W at the wall. I'd say the blurple is prob pulling 200-220w if it's advertised as a 1000 so you're likely looking around 310 watts total. Or about 45w per square foot which is grand. Just start them over 2 feet away and keep an eye

You'll grow some nice buds with em. Look at umols when you buy lights. Compare umols to other lights. The higher the umols the more light intensity for the plants. Mars hydro light is good. I dont know anything about the no name 1000w tho. But I'm sure they will grow you buds bro no problem. But for future reference if you ever buy more lights ask on here and ppl will guide you to good lights. You'll just have to say what you can afford like your price range and people will guide you to great lights if you ask. The ts 600 is nice tho for one big plant I'd say or a couple smaller. You'll be able to make it work and spread out the light with 2 lights

If you turn all the lights on and the plants turn their leaves sideways.... its overkill. I think its gonna be fine tho. Lighting is the engine. I like superchargers and nitrous.
