Hello. First off I want to thank everyone who contributes to this site because I have learned a lot from you guys so far. This is my first grow and I already have come across mistakes and things I will change for the next. I am growing in coco coir under a 300W viparspectra LED. It’s a single auto OG plant. I purchased the line of General Hydroponics nutes and the botanicare cal mag. I have PH tested the water to between 5.5-6.3. I will say I have not PH the soil due to not having a tool right now or knowing that it was really needed at first. The plant is about 12 days old from sprouting currently and it’s showing signs of what I think is nitrogen toxicity. It’s already getting spots and what looks like “clawing”. I have been following a big YouTuber and trying my best to replicate what he does. After 7 days I was feeding 2ml cal mag; 1ml micro; 1ml gro; 0.5ml bloom to a gallon of water. I’m going to give it some regular clean water but will this start to clear up and is it fixable? I apologize for being such a noob and the not so great pics but go easy on me I appreciate any advice and tips I can get! Lol

Thank you for the reply and the info Archie you rock and it’s great to meet you! It’s still so young I figured just keep riding it out and maybe not to worry so much like I do ;) I’ve been lurking for a few weeks and learning as much as I can. Decided it was finally time to introduce myself lol Everybody is so helpful and I’m very happy to be able to be a part of this community. Thank you again and I look forward to updating on how things are going and continuing to learn!

It’s looking good tbh! Few questions though for ya.
-What brand of coco and is it buffered?
-What size pot is she in?
-How often and how much do you feed her?

honestly it’s store brand stuff it’s called hydro crunch and it’s 70% coco and 30% perlite. They’re in 5gallon vivosun fabric pots. Usually once every 24 hours but the last time I let it dry a few days as it seemed like it was still too soaked. Going to feed her soon as it seems like it needs it.

Alright I looked up that hydro crunch coco, and didn’t see nothing mentioned of it being buffered, so I’m guessing there’s abit of cal def going on with the small spots appearing. Coco is a Calcium pig until the cation exchange sites get their fill of it, and only then will they start sharing with the plant. Feed strength seems good for the age, and I don’t believe you have a N issue on your hands. The first plants I grew were in 5gal pots of coco/perlite under a vipar with GH trio nutes, so we got abit in common there.

*read the OP abit slower and answered my own questions lol.

-How old is she?
-How much water you give her each time you feed?
Thank you for that info! Im enjoying how I’m learning so much already. I planted the germinated seed 15 days ago and I unfortunately should have waited a tad longer because it seemed to take a bit longer to sprout than I was seeing. I’m giving her water until I see I’d say about 15% runoff in the tray underneath the pot. Is there like a “specific” amount of water I should use? I also have the pot a few inches above the tray so that it can have no issues with the water run out the bottom and room to breath. I’m using a gallon of tap water and letting it sit at least 24 hours then adding the nutes and PH testing the water after. I’d say about 40%-50% of that gallon is being used each time I water. Never pre mixing or re using always using fresh water and nutes every time.

Also will add in that my light is about 26in above the plant right now dimmed down a hair from full power. Running 18 on 6 off. Fan always on and small heater will be used when needed. When light is on temp is around 79F-82F and humidity 40%-50%. When the light is off I’d say it’s usually drops to around 76F but I unfortunately cannot monitor it as much the time frame it is turned off.

It seems like you are right on track. There is no specific amount of water to feed, 2L is fine for that size of pot, and you could probably get away with watering every other day right now. My plants are currently 6 weeks old and get 4L each every 2 days. I let that pot dry slightly before I feed again and it works well for me! I’ll start feeding daily once I notice the pots drying out each day.

Best advice is don’t overthink anything, keep it simple! My first grow I was paranoid about everything, and now im just like let the plants do all the work! Easy mode. They’re pretty hardy plants, and unless you straight up kill her you won’t have any problems making it to harvest!
