New grower mistakes!!!

Hey growers worldwide.Ok so I'm on my first ever indoor grow I am growing 3 autos under a marshydro300 2 in 3 gal smartpots and the other in a solo.I dropped the 2 seeds straight into 3 gal pots,no papsrtowel or overnite soak.I dropped seeds on Aug 27,they both emerged on the 31st about an 8 hrs difference from eachother.My question is!!!!

Is day 1 the 27th or the 31st?thanks for all the help.

Your choice as to when to start counting. Some start when the sprout appears, others use first true leaves.

I count from the day I soak the seed. I will always be a little longer than promoted, but I can look back and tell you exactly how long something was in my garden. If your guessing what day 1 is.... your guessing what day 85 is.

Day it shows its face is day 0 for me

Most count day 0 as the day they sprout. So for you that's the 31st.

The reason I'm wondering is.The 27th till now in comparison to other growers photos makes my plant seem small.When the 31st is day 1 well then my plant seems the right size.
I think I'm a new grower and I tend to over think this too much.

as soon as she pops her head up is my day one theres no point counting before as seed dependant it may take 2 or 4 days to get to a sprout just my opinion and nice to meet you @Mikescottson

Try not to compare too much. Photos can be misleading to sizes of things... and I have yet to know a grower who doesn't use the best shots of their plants... we all want to show the best stuff... even when the pic is going in the infirmary...

When the seeds pops up is day 1 for me. Comparing your grow to somebody else's is nothing more than a lesson in futility.

I count day 1 when she breaks ground. Also like others have said try not to compare especially in the early stages. it can definitely be a downer for no reason. She will grow at her own rate mate. I tried to compare my grow to others like mine for like the first month or so, and i was getting down on my self bc mime didn’t look as big as some of the others. But now I compare them and I’m like shit mines blowing those out of the garden.
