Three bags seeds have been in there cup of water for 22 hours, i heard somewhere 36 hours is good, how long should i keep the seeds in the cup of water?
I plan on planting them between a 1/4 and 1/ 2 inch deep in a few hour s.
I already put some water through the soil im going to use, the soil seams nice and moist and cool, definately not water logged, do you think the soil will be fine for a while?
Im using 5 inch square pots for now.
Should i put some water on the seeds right after i plant them? i think i saw something like than on youtube.
Should i use my oscilating fan before the seeds sprout?
Should i spray water on the top of the soil so the soil doesnt get dry on the top?
This is my plan for for humidity, use the plastic from grocery bags and put it over the pots with a rubber band, but how long should i keep the plastic on the pots?
Is it good to have a small hole in the plastic so some air gets down to them?
Last time i had the t5 setup like 4-6 inches away from the pots, should i go lower?
And any other info you think would help me out would be great.
Thanks for any answers, i just want the seeds to make it this time.

hey gregmagnu lets see where i can help

i would plant about a 1/4 inch deep, a rule i use is i plant as deep as my index finger's nail so i poke my finger in so my nail is just under the soil and then plant

water straight after planting is not neccessary unless the soil is dry

no need for a fan yet it will just increase evaporation rates, turn it on as soon as they come up

if you see the soil on top drying out mist it untill moist but not soggy

i use shrinkwrap/clingfilm on the top of my pots till the seeds come up and i put 3 small holes in it with a sharp knife for air exchange, and remove ot when they come up

lights are not an issue right now they matter when the babies break ground for now just keep them warm i keep mine between 22 and 26 degrees C

and lastly good luck and grow safe:peace:

Leave seeds in water till they sink. Make sure entire pot is moist before you put seed in.I like to plant about 3/8'' deep.No need for a fan yet. Put seed in soil and water lightly to settle the soil around the seed.Cover with some handy wrap with a few holes in it.Keep lights close enough so the soil gets a little warm and leave them on until they sprout ,then start your reg light cycle. Do not let soil dry out at this point, just keep moist and seeds should pop in a few days.

Thanks for the great info guys, im going to start planting them soon.

Also, keep them warm. Seeds like temperatures in the 75 - 80 degree range for proper germination.

Ok guys i planted the seeds with the nail trick and theyre on top of a dresser, its 70 degrees, hopefully thats not to cold? I could put them in the tent with the t5 setup, do you think that would be better?

Put them under your lights close enough so the lights warm the soil slightly and leave the lights on.They have to stay warm constantly for proper germination.Like Muddy said 75 to 80 degrees.
