today i flused my plants and checked runoff ph!! i ph the water that i was flushig with and it was 7, i flushed the plants and they have a runoff of 5, how do i raise it. and now that there flushed. 1. do i add PH UP to my water and try and buffer it up that way?? 2. Do i amend the soil someway and buffer it up that way?? 3 do both ??

The soil should take on the PH of the water you flush with. If you use enough. It will be easier than amending the soil.

I'd flush with properly PH'd water if it was me.

ok i might just let them dry out now and water them with ph'd water.. whats the ideal number for water. or would i still want to shoot for a higher number because its gonna lower again

Ive got the same problem. Try flushing with higer ph water and see if it helps.Im starting a knew grow as soon as my seeds come and I got some ffof soil and i will see how my runoff is and try and adjust so it comes out at 6.5 to 6.8

yeah i flushed and checked runoff, came in around 5 across board.. i flushed with ph 7 water .. seems to have done wonders.. will check runoff next feeding, hope its gone up.. if not i will get some lime and put a small amount spread around the top inch of soil

I talked to a guy at fox farm about ph runoff and he said not to woory about runoff unless its below 5. Mine goes in at 6.5 and comes out 5.5 I thought the same thing abouy raising intake higher to make runoff higher He said that shouldnt have to be done, just make sure intake is correct and one point lower than 6.5 is no cause for worry.

ok man, thank you, seems you might be correct as i reckon the flush i did got rid of over ferting and they seem to be doin just fine now. my runoff was according to the not so accurate ph tester @ 5 so me putting correct ph in should keep things in check.
