Hello, thanks for viewing! Great community here. I seem to have narrowed down some options for my next grow adventure, with a budget of about $400 for light(s), exhaust system minus 6" filter i already have, and tent. I plan on 3 autos (flexible number) hoping to give them maximum space and light penetration. Please give any feedback on these options, and how I should arrange plants to fit the lights/tents accordingly.

Option 1: 2x4 with kingbrite 240w with cree

Option 2: 3x3 or 4x4 (using only 3x3 space in 4x4, in case I want to add more lights/plants in the future) using kingbrite 320w no cree ($ is tight)

It gets hot as hell here in the summer, and we set the AC to 78 on average to keep it alive, so I'm not in favor of cmh lights. Anywho...thanks a bunch for your input, and if you have any other tent/light combos to mind please let me know! :worship::headbang:

Go with the biggest tent you can afford (tallest also). Try to buy a light where the driver can be installed outside of the tent and make sure it is dimmable.

Not sure which Kingbrite you are looking at?

Definitely 4x4 then, so thanks a whole lot for that recommendation! This is the light I'm leaning towards after about 14 days of research:

Kingbrite 320w LM301H for 4x4 (using 3x3 space and 3~ plants for now). Full 3000 or 3500k, so no wasted led on ir/uv, especially if they burn out. fits my budget perfectly. Unsure about dimmer outside of tent, most people claim it either fits or doesn't in a 4x4.

Thanks very much for viewing!

I've been told by alot of growers to buy the biggest tent you can afford and fit. I've got a 4x8 and only using 4x4 at this point with 3 plants.

What tent you get should depends on how much herb you need.
Most small home growers would be happy with a 2 ft x 4 ft, and anything bigger would needlessly increase work and expense.
A good reason for having a bigger tent is a need for more variety.

I have two 2 x 2 tents, and one 3 x 3, but greatly prefer the 2 x 4.
I just got 11 oz dry from a 2 x 4 in hydro just letting the plants grow the way they want.
I can't use that much, so I'm giving most of it away.
I only grow this way because I like to try many, many different strains.
But a 2 x 4 would be plenty otherwise.

Get the tallest tent you can.
