Hey everyone, so I've got a new grow going (my 3rd ever) I'm using Mega Crop 2.0 with Promix HP.

My last feed I gave them 422PPM (2g/gal) at 5.8 PH. Temperature is 76-77F and RH is 72-74%

Growth is great, leaves are a nice green, but I've noticed an issue popup. There's these dark brownish rust looking spots starting to appear.

I'm not sure if it's a PH lockout or what. I've looked at charts with pictures trying to compare with my plants, but I'm simply not experienced enough to make a call on what it is, so hopefully the more experienced growers can help me identify this issue so I can correct it and learn from this.

Here's some pictures of the issue. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks archie! it's possible it's a splash, but I'm super duper careful when feeding. The brown spots are on the first set of leaves too. Just don't want to let it get to the stage where it starts affecting the plant. I'll keep an eye on it.

They look good for now, but I'm afraid this is the early stage of something and I want to nip it in the butt before it progresses. Last time I fed them, I checked the run-off PH and it was at 5.5, so that's why I'm thinking it could be a PH lockout.

But I'll keep an eye on them and monitor for any progression with this issue.

sorry i only noticed the one.5.8 in and 5.5 out could be 5.2 ish....sorry im not well up on the finer details of coco ph other than its lower than soil.is 5.2 outa range ?

I've just recently switched from Sunshine mix to Promix HP. I've always used 6.2 to 6.5 for peat/soilless. I was of the impression 5.8 would be closer to the PH you would use for something like Coco.

(EDIT) I was just reading though your grow journal and watched the vids you had linked there from Promix and PH ranges. I wonder if that is for all their different promix soils ? I notice when I check my soil with the accurate 8 PH probe no matter what PH I feed it always works it's way back to about 6.8.

Not to scare ya , but I'm pretty sure my first time using promix gave me broad mites. If you notice the smaller bags of promix have little holes in the side of them for airation. And here in Sask, everwhere that sells the promix keeps the bags outdoors. Pretty much impossible for bugs not to get in there. You may want to look at your plants under a scope. I've noticed the large bales of Promix dont have the holes and I will be trying that next after i burn everything down to rid myself of mites.

Promix HP isn't coco, it's made from peat. But it's still a soilless medium. Yeah 5.2 is quite outta range, but I'm sure some folks grow styles in coco include running at 5.2 lol.

Thanks for checking out my journal =)

Yeah, just based on the title of the video, with no specification to a particular Promix soil, it leads me to believe it's for all Promix soils. The funny thing is that after reading HUNDREDS of threads from different forums, folks using Promix HP seem to be split 50/50 on using soilless PH ranges and actual soil PH ranges

With regards to the bugs. I get my Promix from a local grow store which keeps it all inside a warm warehouse attached to the grow store and they only sell it in the big bails, so no holes. I've got...A LOT of Promix HP for a 2 plant tent lol.
