Hey everyone

I'm hoping to get some input here. I currently have two plants going in a small closet grow. One is Berry Ryder Automatic, the other is Ultra Lemon Haze Auto. Both seeds were planted November 18th, and are looking fairly healthy.

Currently running lights 18/6 with a 900w Apollo horticulture LED. room temp 79-84 with humidity between 45-60%

Watering once a day with a low ppm solution (Lucas formula, flora micro/bloom 2:1)

My question is..when will these plants Startto show pre flowers? I dont see any yet, and im wondering what is going on. from what I am reading on the web, it seems these two strains have a history of needing to be induced into 12/12 light schedule to triggerflowering. Can anyone confirm or give some insight on this?

If I do switch to 12/12, should I consider these photo period plants even though they're labeled as autos? Do I need to watch out for light leaks?

The bigger plant is the berry Ryder in the pics

Any input would be appreciated..thanks everyone!

You have just encountered the worst aspect of autos.
Sometimes they take too long to flower.
My record is 10 weeks for a DutchPassion AutoNightQueen, so you've got 3 weeks to beat it.
Not sure the huge yield will justify the nearly double grow time.

Welcome to my nightmare bro!!

Having the same issue here, seed popped up on Nov 19, so about the same age as yours.... It's a Royal Gorilla auto from RQS. I noticed 2 small pistils so far (and yes, literally 2) but no sign of pre-flower as well....

Here's the pic from day 44

I'm also concerned I'll need to change to 12/12... But since she's the only girl on my tent, I will wait a bit more, 1 or 2 more weeks to see if she goes to bloom by herself...

But I feel your pain, everyday i'm checking for pistils, any sign of bloom.... and always thinking if I shouldn't have switched the lights to 12/12 already...

Good luck on your side bro, and damn these November seeds :p

I'm growing a slow bloomer right now also. Mine is about 5 days older than yours and is finally in flower. Here she is from a day or two ago:

Plants are living things, not machines. They don't always behave as we expect, just have patience and let it mature at its own pace.

I will say that your plants look pretty small for being over 40 days old so there may be other factors at play.

Thank you for all.of your responses everyone! Just as of today I spotted ONE Preflower on the Berry Ryder. ULH is still not showing any signs but I think I'm going to let them run another day or two and then flip them to 12/12 in the flower room.

i have some GG4 from fast buds germinating right now so it seems like the right time to maybe swap em. I'll keep you guys updated.

fingers crossed.how long do we give a slow one, untill we treat her like a photo ? its a tough call  a shame that it hits first timers too often :frowny:
good luck n keep er lit (or half lit if its a photo)
:pighug:

:toke: -- both are Auto Seeds, right? ... I know ULHa is a longer cycle strain, but they say as much; BR isn't though,...
...As you see above, "auto'ing" isn't a cut-and-dried thing, there's not a "switch" effect to it,... not for timing, or even at all in some cases,... Sometimes breeding issues, or plain bad luck pheno's are the usual suspects, packing errors on occasion,... And always keep in mind each seed itself is a little gamble!
.... if the BR is showing sex, then don't go 12/12, let her be,... And as mentioned, ULHa may just not be ready yet... But grinding light gears going form 18/6 to 12/12, and back again may cause a hermie expression, so ditto on ULHa....
Did you reach out to our good mate @Autoseeds.com rep' here yet? He may have some further insights,...

Longest I can remember seeing anyone go before pistils on 18h+ is 72 days. Dare say dive given up by that point lol

Hey all,

Thanks for everyone's responses. I'm here to update everyone as well as get some insight.

As a first time auto grower, I was impatient and frustrated so I flipped to 12/12. They have both been in 12/12 since jan 4, and are both looking relatively healthy.

Currently under 2 900w mars hydro LED, and one autocob 150w @ 3500k. I have two fans in opposite corners of the room, which is 7x7x8. Lights on temp/humidity: 45-55/84 (top of canopy)
Lights off temp/humidity: 50-60/68-72
Co2 supplementation w XL exhale bag, PPMs unknown.

Top feeding roughly one gallon per day/or to runoff in 5 gallon pots. Medium is coco loco.

advanced nutrients coco a&b for base nutes
Herculean harvest for P supplementation
Terpinator for K supplementation
cal mag
Hydroguard

Ppms in: 930
PH in: 6.0
PH out: 6.1/6.2

This room also is shared with photoperiod plants.

So my issue is that the plants look pretty good, but for some reason the bud sites just look off for sone reason. They seem very small and wispy, I know it is early if these are in fact photo period...however I'm leaning towards the fact that they may be more auto driven and maybe they're not producing because they're only getting 12 hrs? Unsure.

Also as of today I noticed some issues on a few fan leaves. Outer edges seem dead and brown, very isolated. pics are berry Ryder from yesterday on an overhead shot, then today with a close up of the leaf that looks bad. Also have added a picture of a budsite for berry Ryder. (Bottom to top)

Lemon haze is the first two pictures and again the plant looks very healthy however budsites are strange. Any input appreciated.
