I have a small grow space. My light is dying so I need a new one.

Like most, I don't have piles of cash, so a good light at a fair price is what I need.

I am guessing but I need a light about 18"x24" or so.

DIY or you okay with Alibaba?

Do you have a specific budget? I forgot to ask. Though for a 2x1.5 area, bridgelux 560mm light strips would be more than adequate.

Bridgelux Gen. 2 BXEB-L0560Z 2′ LED Strip Build – 2’x1.5′
Parts list:
4x BXEB-L0560Z 2′ Strips ($45)

1x Mean Well HLG-120H-C1050B Driver ($45)

1x 100K Ohm Potentiometer for Dimming ($7)

1x Resistor for Potentiometer ($6) Note- resistor is only required if your potentiometer measures less than its rated resistance. Use a resistor in series to bring the pot up to its rated resistance.

~12 Feet of 1″ Heat Sink ($24) Note – this length is an estimate only… make sure to measure your space so your heat sinks are cut short enough that they’ll fit.

You can use 1/8"x1 flat aluminum bar. Much cheaper.

~8 Feet of 3/4″ x 3/4″ x 1/8″ thick Angle Aluminum for Frame ($30) Note – this length is an estimate only… make sure to measure your space to properly size your frame.

Do this however you want

1x Roll of Thermal Tape, 30mm x 25m ($16)

1x LLT L20 Waterproof Power Connector for Driver AC Connection ($10)

18 gauge hookup wire cut to whatever length you need ($10)

Computer cables for power in 8-20ft are good choices.

4x 5-Conductor Wagos ($3)

1x 6-Pack of Ratcheting Hangers ($19)

Total Price Estimate (USD) = $215 + Shipping

The above is edited from Here. The price list will be cheaper if you opt for aluminum flat bar rather than heatsink. The prices for the light strips are inexpensive and some things in this list are cheaper.

Arrow offers a 10% discount on the first order so the driver and strips can be purchased from there, aluminum locally, solid core 14g wire or 18g stranded wire tinned on the end locally, and everything else from Amazon. I'm seeing maybe a $150 project for up to 120 watts that is adjustable and customized for your space if you want to do DIY.

Strips From Arrow

HOWEVER.

I think an auto cob would fill that space but I also think the strips would give you better coverage and more wattage.

A www.cobshop.net Autocob would do well in a small space. They are really nice lights. Only .49 amp draw. Small and easy to move. No fan, so no noise. I own 6.

Ok got the measurements.
My tent is 18" deep x 30" across x 36"high..

The light I have is an older blackstar that measures 6"x18"
