I was away for the holiday when these babies popped and was not present to add adequate lighting and water. So last night I watered them with PH water with a little cal mag plus and moved them inside the grow tent under some T5s. They are 25 inches away and I only have on 4 of the 8 bulbs. I have them on 18/6....This morning they were looking alot better.

Question: I read that when I transplant them I should place them deep enough so that most of the stretched stem is under the grow medium...... it read that the stem will later grow roots.

Have anyone done this or have a better solution for seedlings that have stretched?

It is because that light is way too far away. It should be 6 inches or even closer. That is not really too bad of a stretch. I have had much worst before that turned out perfect. Who ever said that is thinking of tomatoes. That is the only plant you are recommended to plant below the soil line. Most plants need those upper roots for breathing, and burying those will suffocate.

Hey thanks Hal! I don't want to suffocate my babies........ Im going to bring the light down to 6"..... I was being cautious not to burn them....

The way to tell they are light hungry is that pale green color. Many seeds stretch even when given bright light. They will have plenty of time to bulk up.
