Howdy Folks,
While I realize that this is an autoflower forum, I thought I would share some pictures of a bubble cloner that I made. I used a tote from Wally World, a hole saw, drill, fish tank air pump, pipe insulation, and air-stones, to make my bubble cloner. If I remember correctly I have about $20 in my 12 site bubble cloner.
Here is a pic of my finished cloner.

The cuttings are cushioned with pieces of 1/2 pipe insulation that I cut into 1" disks, and pushed down into the holes cut with an 1 1/4" hole saw. I also drilled a couple of holes to run the air lines through the lid. I have tried all kinds of glues, to attatch the air-stones to the bottom of the tote, but to no avail. But that said, I am getting 100% success rate, on rooting clones.
I hope that this helps out some of the other cheapskates, like me.

Have a great week

I've made a bunch of these over the years. Good stuff.

Would this work just as well, if you used net pots and hydroton?
Would you still need to spray the clones?

I don't know, about the net pots and Hydroton, but i would bet it would work. I never spray the clones, if by spray you mean misting them. I just take the cuttings, with the 45 degree cut, and pop them into the bubble cloner. No dome or misting, and no rooting hormones required. You do need a warm place to keep the bubble cloner, as the cuts root faster when warm.

Not TOO warm, or you will be in slime city...

I like to try and keep mine right around 70F...

Nice lil DIY bro!!I have a small question if I may?,about the cuttings.a 45 Degree maxes the surface area for root structure to build in contact with the media.I read somewhere that one can slightly smash the bottom inch or so to increase the surface area(s) similar to Roses or most any Vased flower ,assuming the air embolizim is avoided.Just curious if youve done this and how it may have worked?

I have never smashed the bottom of the cut, but I have scraped the side of the stem, and split the bottom of the cut, on strains that don't clone easy.

In cooler climates, you can add a fish tank heater, which will keep the rez warm, but not too hot. I usually keep the bubbler in the same room with my tents, and that does fine. But yes, in summer months I have had the slime problem, and moved the bubbler to a cooler room. I try and keep temps in the low to mid 70s F
