hey all.. im lookin for advice again.. right i am commong to the end of my first atou grow.. its not gone exactly as planned due to my hieght ristriction issues(the only place i can grow is my attic)((small as fuck house)) so now im lookin into growing in my shed.. my only concern is the cold so im sendin the mrs to argos tomorrow to buy a heater fan so i can warm the shed up and maimtain a constent temp through the winter.. the heater fan i have decided on has got a digi temp control(help me requlate the temp more) i was just wondering what is the best temp for me to keep my shed at.... any ideas guys...

Around 78 during the lights on, and 68 or so at lights off would be good.

how cold does it get. your lights will generate heat.
one thought may be to insulate and vent as required and let the
lights heat it up. fans will always be needed anyway.

Like pet rock said the lights will most likely generate the needed heat. Question how big is the space that you will be growing in
i learned fast that i did not need the extra heat. And were learning that autos can handle the colder climates over others.
i have had them finish through the winter when night temps drop into the 50's

not really sure how cold it will get mid-winter.. a couple of other peeps have allso told me the lights will be enough.. im gonna set it all up through this week and run it as if i have o grow on and just measure the temps.. try to record them all through the day and night with just my lights.. they will be timed to go off through the day seein as it gets colder at night so ill leave them on then..

atm its a metre by a metre square.. well think im gonna have to modify my tent so width will prob be slightly less than a metre.. its good to now auto's are better with the cold put my mind at rest a little in that area now... i suppose the cold was my biggest concern..

I have a shed about the same size as what you are planning. I started out using a HPS system, thinking the heat from it would be enough. I also added a small space heater to supply heat during lights out. What I quickly found out was that is was very hard to control the heat. I had to run my fan at a high speed to keep the temps in an acceptable range. Then during lights out the high fan speed was sucking all the hot air out from the space heater. Eventually I switched to LEDs and am finding it much easier to keep the temps in an acceptable range. I thing it's easier to add heat when needed that to extract unwanted heat. Right now I'm waiting for one of these, which is on back order from a different vendor. It will not only turn the fan on and off but will vary the speed of the fan to maintain the set temp. http://www.4hydro.com/growroom/capVSCdne.asp
