Hi all,

I'm pretty new to growing but this is the first time I've had an accident. So basically my LED lights fell on to my plants and crushed them.
The main stems were badly damaged.

Thankfully with a little TLC and taping they all have bounced back.

It's now week 7 of my grow the accident happened on week 5 just as buds were starting to grow. Buds are goring pretty good now however I'd say the entire incident definitely set the plants back a week. I'm growing watermelon automatic which has a harvest time of week 9 or 10 according to specs.

My questions are as follows. How badly will my final yield be affected by this setback and will the plants now grow for an extra week to mature or are they still going to end its life cycle at the same time it always would have. Any advice would be appreciated.

There really is no way of telling, and you'll just have to grow it out and wait to see. Sometimes when an accident happens and the plant repairs itself, it becomes even stronger.

Fingers crossed for a nice finish (just keep an eye on the hairs (pistils) and trichs for cloudy-amberness for your harvesting window!

Hope this helps
All the best

a lot depends on your environment how long a plant will go but some pics will really help also sometimes a damaged plant can make her grow stronger depending how bad the break was as I supercrop lots of my plant with no problems

Attached some pics buddy.

So keep in mind I'm a first timer I already know I've made mistakes, here are some things I will correct next time. I consider this a practice run.

Bigger pots (currently I'm using 8.7liter pots)
Less plants (I feel they are getting over crowded)
LST training (just tried a natural grow this time but will use lst next time)

Also it seems a few leafs have septoria so I think I should remove those fan leaves.

Other than that what you think?

Any tips or advice some of the pucs aren't great, also they are a little bushy but I worry about taking to much off them

There looking healthy bro and only take leaves off if its blocking bud sites or you need to for airflow also they look like the have a long way to go before finishing just keep them fed and happy and you will do well out of them and your doing great as you learn as you go and grow
