Check this one out. Originally looked promising (or at least interesting) due to the extreme sativa phenotype. What do you guys think? Are these HUGE, but very sparse calyxes a pure ruderalis type of bud formation, or is this a mutation that arose from genetic recombination? it is also a hermaphrodite, but not like any that I have ever seen before. Rather than creating separate male parts, the stamens popped out of the already formed calyxes.

Have any of you seen something like this before?

That is incredible. What conditions did this plant live in and what was the lineage?

I don't think that is a mutant. It looks like an heirloom type sativa pheno, which has hermied. They didn't grow big thick buds like the developed strains do. Every time I saw this, I had some serious stuff on my hands, though... just no yield.

Thanks for the interest guys. I can't wait to see what wiz has to say about it. These are being grown in a flood and drain table under 2012 blackstar LEDs with the added UV light spectrum.

It was definitely super frosty on the little bit of calyxes that were there, with some pointy, but otherwise thick and well-developed trichomes on every bit of stem from the middle of the plant upwards.

This is one of the mossy mix freebies given away from the e-shop here. Unfortunately it's now in the garbage because it was in the same tent with my Super Lemon Haze and Samurai Jacks that are in their 3rd week of budding.

I would have binned it too.

The mossy mix is ICU#2, ALF#3 and Mossy JEM Bush Pheno. JEM's will be nute hog's, ALF's will be colourful and afghan dom, ICU#2 gave me alot of red's, it's JEM x White Russian

My guess is it's ALF#3. NC420 had an odd looking ALF#3 like that. The buds looked like a string of pearls, it grew more like a vine. I don't think it herm'd on him. The mix was from my selection, but I sure didn't select for that one .

Hope it didn't do any damage to the other's.

Yeah it would be a bummer. The stamens were out in the open, but felt weirdly dry and had no dust. I'm hoping it was sterile because I have lots of pollinating to do with those plants

One super lemon haze and one samurai jack are getting samurai jack pollen. Another samurai jack and the frostiest mossy mix (in the short plant tent, those things would be buried under the hazes) are getting Auto Assassin pollen.

The MM is getting pollinated tomorrow at 30 or so days of budding but the samurai jacks probably won't get dusted until their week 6 because they're just stretching for the most part right now.

Thinking about it more now - "weirdly dry and had no dust" could mean that they had completely blown their load already. :( My partners I work with would normally have been on top of the situation but one is laid up from surgery. I'll ask the other guy when the last time he was around and see for how long those sacks could have been open. Hopefully I don't see a bunch of shrivelled hairs tomorrow!

yeah thats just wierd! congrats! you got a mossy wiggle anomoly... better plant karma sent... occasionally a weird one shows... I'd agree with bailer prob an ALF... they have some weird things on occasion... :toke:

If it means anything they don't look fully opened to me.

Edit:

Yeah JM that's it the mossy wiggle pheno. You remember too.

Indeed! I've seen a few weird ones in my day... but nothin like that... actually... I vaguely remeber NC's similar one.... now that I think back...

wasnt alf also the one with the albino?
