Next up for me is some Ghaze x Diesel. Started 10 seeds back on Feb. 5th. Eight of them germed and got 3 males and 5 females. One of the males was the first to show sex, grew the fastest and became the biggest one. Captured some pollen off of it and intent on pollinating a few branches. Of the 5 females, 3 are single cola phenos, 1 is a cola with 4 branches and the other is growing 4 colas. I'll probably do a branch on the one with the side branches, it's the biggest one at this point, and the nicest of the single cola phenos.
This grow is in straight Pro Mix HP, unamended, and the new Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Sensi A and B. I'll also be using some B-52 and Overdrive, as well as humic acid as usual. I had some concerns about how well the AN nutes would work with my rain water as it's only guaranteed with RO. The ppm of my rain water tends to vary a bit, ranging from around 15 up to about 60 ppm. I'm adding enough cal/mag, between 1/2 to 1 ml, to bring the ppm up to around 120 to buffer it. So far the AN nutes are bringing the pH to about 6.2, right where I want it.
The plants are in my smaller area under the GLH 240 watt LED. Five plants in there is pretty tight and one will probably need to be moved to my other area in another week or so when they get a little bigger. So far they are responding very well to the AN nutes. They got their first feeding, 1/4 strength, on day 12 and were feed twice more at 1/4 strength before being transplanted into 3 gallon pots on day 25. They were given 1/2 strength at that time, as well as their next feeding. Their last feed, 2 days ago, was 3/4 strength. Not sure if I'll go any higher, will depend on how they respond to the last feed. But so far they seem to be tolerating it very well.
This strain was last year's Bud of the Year winner. I'm hoping for something equally as nice. I love anything diesel and am looking forward to adding this to my stash.
