Hey guys, I have an Auto Northern Lights plant growing in a 2gal smart pot, and the soil is Plagron Light Mix. She is 40 days old but there is a problem with the watering. I wait her to dry, and give around 2.5 liters of water, but most of the water goes to waste, like more than half of it. It just runs off from the sides of the smartpot and goes to drain. Even after 2.5 liters of water, the pot is very light like it did not get that amount of water.. The leaves are droopy since the last 4-5 days and deficiencies started to show up which I believe, due to the watering issue. I have 4 older plants and I have never had this problem with them, they drink nicely. What can be the issue? Thanks for your help.

You can mist the top layer of soil a bit before you water and that should help, otherwise just try watering a bit slower and more precise, maybe squeeze the sides lightly. I had the same problem

Mix in yucca, it acts as a surfacant making water water and improving plant tolerances. Starwest Botanicals sells it cheaply.

Dig a shallow furrow around your plant between roots and side of bag, fill the “moat” and wait til absorbed then repeat til she gets her fill...

Consider bottom feeding - drop/ease the plant bag into your nutrient pail or container, let it absorb the nutes, then lift it up or out to drain. Whether you do this, add a surfactant, or whatever, as long as you get all the media wetted, it will probably stay OK from then on (not be a dried-out region in the media that might actually shed water).

Did bottom feeding, she drank 2.5 liter in 1 hour, leaves are up again and looks fine. I hope it will cure the deficiencies too. Thanks for you help, and other members for their help too.
