Ask if you wanna know
Decided to try some shiitake plug spawns, I marked this as tutorial but I have no clue what I’m doing...
things are already brewing I dunno if this’ll work...

So you’ll need hardwood logs about 6 inches diameter and 3-4ft length..

Now ya drill holes in a diamond pattern (about 6inches apart 2inch turns)
8.5mm auger bit

I’ll be back in a bit when there all done, got 4 logs to prep.. here’s the sneak peek... very time consuming

I’ll take the dowels now and smack em into the holes with my crap hammer not the Martinez

Wax of your choice I received soy wax

Heat and then use cotton to dab wax over plugged holes
End up with something like this

Disinfect everything and do the next one...
We got cold and warm variety , maitake and wine cap but that will be wood chips not logs

Soak logs and hide in shadey spot...
Now we wait.. see ya in 6 months or so
Oh and keep it off the ground for awhile so no competitor mycelium interrupts

Close to far
Maitake, warm shiitakes, cold shiitake

Neat! Not the mushrooms I expected to see on here. 6 months to finish? Hope you don't run into winter before they're ready. Where did you get the starting plugs from?

And I’m trying to remember my mushy buddy on here... with his lsd micro doses..
You wouldn’t happen to remember our resident psychedelics guy would ya...
My uncle has a syringe of liquid culture he won’t share lmao

And 6months - 2years depends on log size...
I may have a massive tree stump shortly and would like to do a “magic” inoculation

Great idea for a thread Mo :d5: taking a seat for this :toke:
Thanks brother,
Never did mushroom logs so we’re gonna see how this goes..
The wine caps are in a shit spot too much sun since a tree was removed... and the squirrels or birds keep messing with the box it’s in... same goes with the logs bastards pecking the wax away... I have no time to re wax. But have been noticing couple different shrooms popping up in lawns.. only if I could identify them better.. one looks just like the old gold cap, purple stems funguy
