Hi all! After an exhausting couple of months of eat, sleep, work, repeat (putting rich people's yachts to sleep for the winter.....I hate antifouling!) I'm finally able to do more than lurk and get another log going.

I've got myself a nice new Lighthouse tent, 1.8m x 1m x 0.5m, so taller and wider but 25cm shallower than my last one.

It's also in our bedroom atm, very chav of me I know but needs must and all that. I'll be building a wardrobe unit around it after Christmas to make it match the bedroom furniture (Ikea make a wardrobe the same size as the tent, bless them!) and quiten it down a bit more.

It's pretty silent as it is now since I finally got a proper fan controller, no more hum from the single 4" fan that I'm running at half speed through a Rhino filter. Passive intake is from either a 4" duct direct to the outside air (double mesh filters) or from vents open in the room depending on tent temps.

I'm using a GT205 NFT system with just the one COTC Cash Crop Auto while I get the environment dialed in in the new grow conditions.

She has just turned 6 weeks from seed and up until last week she was under a Vipar V300 as her main source of light but she's now under the Vipar 400w COB for the flowering stage. She's done the same as the last Cash Crop I did and remained stubbornly bush-like until a few days ago and now she's begun the stretch with a vengeance, about an inch a day for the side shoots now :)

As you can see, I've got a variety of sidelighting in there now and it's all not just about keeping the temps up around the 22/23c area (not ideal but I can live with it) but I really do think surrounding plants with light now we can use LED's easily helps greatly. Not just because plants naturally get light all over with the sun moving across the sky but specifically with autos we can't really gradually harvest them as they ripen top to bottom as you can more easily with photo plants.

The lighting schedule you might call an Arctic Summer, all the sidelights are on 24/7 but the COB is off for 4 hours a day.
Just my way of giving her a bit of a rest without needing to put a heater in the tent. As some of you already know, I'm too cheap to waste electric on a heater, I grow autos for that reason

On the left is a 200w CFL red/blue which will be changed to a 300w red later on in flowering.

Next at the back on the right is a 27w LED red/blue/white spot,

and just hanging there beside the spot is a Jungle Dawn LED 13w 6500k reptile lamp. It puts out quite a bit of heat, for me a good thing but be aware if you are thinking of using one in a smaller space.
It's blue light so helps with vegging and once I've put the pure red CFL in as well as the COB I'd prefer to keep a little bit of blue light in during the later stages of flowering considering I've taken the vast majority of it out.
Plus it also has the added bonus of being certified 0% AVA/AVB so I can use it to work in the tent with sunglasses on

Nutrients - I've wrapped my tit's in trying to get the right amount of Vitalink A & B nutes in to keep her happy. Same every time, I add any and the tips go instant yellow, so I'm shit at gauging the amounts and this is made worse because the amounts advised on the packs are blatantly not for autos, 2.0 EC my arse :p
Anyway, I've just been using Vitalink Easy Bloom single pack. It says on the pack 6-8ml per litre so I added 1ml per litre when I changed the water at the end of week 3 and have upped it to 3ml per litre gradually since then. She's visibly improved with much weaker nutes so I'll keep going with fingers crossed.

Normal ph routine, low to high range over a 2 day period. She's had 1ml per litre magnecal+ since seed and since week 3 has had the full dose of 2ml per litre, so no probs with all the led's shredding her!

I think that about covers everything, here's a pic of her looking a bit droopy with the lights off while I'm changing the water. As you can see I've avoided defoliation again, only had to take off a couple of early leaves that died to let the airflow get over the bottom.

As always, questions, tips and advice welcome although links to scientific peer reviews will be required before I believe anything too bizarre :peace:

I really like your setup and the use of LEDs and CFLs as supplementary lighting, plant looks bushy and ready to explode, can't wait to see the result :Cool bud:

Thanks peach, funny enough I just took the CFL out and stuck another LED panel in so it's all LED now :) I've also given her a haircut and done a bit of lst. She looks a bit different now but should recover quickly now the light can get all the way through!

Just picked one of these up from Vipar for £40, a 165w panel purely for flowering at that price has to be worth trying out :)

Completely forgot about this grow, it never did stretch but I got a pretty unglamorous 4 zips from it which will see me through nicely until the current grow finishes. I'll get some pics up next week of the new tent etc. and there will be a guess the strain fun quiz since I have not a clue what seeds I used!
It's either Sour Diesel, Cotc Narcotherapy, Cotc Cash Crop or Sweet Dark Devil, might be two of one type or two of two types, only time and you lot will be able to tell me what I've grown since I mixed the seeds I had together for shits and giggles lol.

Experimenting a bit with things!

I've been waiting for a bigger tent to arrive (f**king courier lost the first one) so I've put 2 plants in one small GT205 tank in the current tent with a view to moving the tank very soon.
They are at 6 weeks now and I've been training them with wires to be well spread out but since height isn't an issue it's not a scrog. I've defoliated them from early on and atm I'm taking about 5 leaves a day off them each.

Had no idea what seeds they are, I mixed 4 types together for fun :p I know the one that's short to the right is COTC Cash Crop, it's very distinct to me now and it stays very low and bushy for the first 7 weeks when you defoliate it then it bursts upwards into this if I get it right;

The plant on the left is either Sweet Dark Devil or Dinafem Sour Diesel or COTC Narcotherapy so it's the fun one for me to discover how she likes to be handled.

Atm they are on max magnecal+ dose, 3/4 of the res is Vitalink Grow A and B and the other 1/4 is dosed with Plant Magic Bloom A and B. I'll gradually change the proportions at each 10 day water change until they are on full bloom nutes and then I'll add Bhudda's Tree PK9/18 for a week or two until flush. The defoliating means I'll probably go to at least 12 weeks until they are ready for harvesting. I'm doing a gradual change to bloom as I've found it works better than a sudden change plus with different seeds I'll need to adapt to different stages in the same tank if I keep doing 2 types in one tank.

I'm trying a couple of grows with two different plants in one small tank as, apart from having the variety, I want to see if the yields are better than one huge plant. I also hope to get one ready for harvest before the other as I want to figure out how manageable that situation is with autos. I've been wanting to try leaving the popcorn buds on a bit longer too so I'll get to kill a lot of research birds with one stone here, bonus!

I'm using the two Vipar V panels for a couple more weeks, I'll replace the V240 with the COB at week 8 and I'll add a 165w red only panel to the mix at week 9/10 for the PK9/18 intensive bloom period.

Finally got the bigger tent, Litehouse 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0.

Seems fricking massive and you can tell how much bigger it is by the shape of the two plants that have grown into the shape of the older tent :)

I've got the seedlings in there already in the other tank, you can just see one of them in one of the pics.

I'll normally have them at about 4 weeks before they go in this tent but in the name of experimenting these seeds have been in Magnecal+ from the tissue paper they were cracked in. So far they've shown no signs of problems under the full power lights tent, surprising as seeds I've put under the COB early have been shredded and suffering within 12 hours so adding it from seed does make a big difference.

Anyway here's a few pics of the setup, I've not put the pure red panel in yet as it's pointless until full bloom. I'm still on the fence whether to replace the oldest V series with an HS1 or just bung a C series Vipar in there, buy a new graphic card and take the wife for a meal with the money I save :p

Coming along nicely side by side, I've added the pure red panel now. Apologies for the pics but my camera sucks with it's crappy flash! :)

Really pleased how much the younger plants have grown since the last post, just on a little bit of grow nutes now and of course max dose of magnecal+

As for the older plants, the one at the back has finished her stretch and is putting a bit of weight on but the Cash Crop at the front is taking her usual own sweet time to finish her stretch while she's in full bloom. On full flowering nutes with pk9/18 boost now, I've backed off the magnecal+a bit and should be getting ready to flush in another couple of weeks.

Quick pic update and I've actually managed some almost acceptable bud porn this time, it's the camera's fault :p

The new girls are coming along well and I've added the reptile tank led to get some more heat into the tent
Noobs (1).jpgNoobs (2).jpg

The flowering plants are showing a bit of nute burn and calmag deficiency as expected now I've backed off the magnecal+ and upped the bloom nutes + pk9/18
