Lighting money help!!

hey guys
i did my first two grows under a 125cfl for vegging,and a 600 watt hps for flowering,all in a tent.not everything went to plan but i can now say i have a grow under my belt recently we had a bill come thru the door,and to say the least it was alot!! and now my other hafe wont let me grow untill i find a cheaper solution to the hps,i dont really want to grow anymore than 5 plants at a time,and i also dont want to lose too much potential weight,

Perhaps you could take a look at LED's as an alternative, expensive initial outlay, but you should get it back in electricity saving.

yea i dont mind forking out a bit,has anybody noticed a diffrence between hps and led?? i just need the bill slashed by 30 40%

J TaNg is the man to ask, but i'm sure an LED with an equivalent output as a 600w HPS could cut your bill by about that amount.

its around £18 a week mate, iam on minimum wage so it did start to get rather unafforable

Im no expert but from what i have read and seen led is the way to go and you save money on your bill compared to hps, you should check them out.

Thats a lot of money bro, LEDs are a lot cheaper to run for instance a Grownorthern http://grownorthern.com/ MS006 light which is 200w will cost 2p - 3p per hour so lets say 60p a day, 400w of decent LED will give u similar results to your sodium so £1.20 a day and £8.40(ish)a week.

sorry to mustard in on your thread PBuddy but while we are on the subject, how much would a 200w dual spectrum cfl be costing me to run per day?
