It's a really sad day for me. The time we all wait for and that normally pays off for all the work and attention that we pay to our little ones is turning into a terrible time for me.

If you check the last entries to my grow jornal (link), you'll learn that I was thoroughly inspecting my little dwarf last Friday and found a developing mold spot right in the middle of the biggest cola attached to the main stem. I had to prematurely chop her, as I wouldn't be able to trim and isolate the infected are (it was developing from the inside of the cola, right in the f#ck*n middle).

After cutting her in small chunks and getting rid of the brownish ruined buds, I placed them evenly in the bottom of Brown paper bags that I ordered from amazon, about 3-4 chunks in each.
I took 2 plastic boxes and attached wires from side to side to hang the paper bags.

I then placed it in an empty closet, away from light. I was dumb enough to place the cover of the box, which probably had exactly the opposite effect - i must have created an humidity dome.
I was even dumber not to check on the bud during all these days, thinking that everything would be solved.
Today morning, I reached to one of the boxes and noticed that the paper bags were mushy, but hadn't time to check on it, so I just removed the lid from each box and left them in the closet.

When I arrived home, I encountered this situation:

Is there anything I can do? I'm really disappointed with this. I had a really beautiful little dwarf, but since last week all went from bad to worse..
Please help...

Shit man, thats a bummer, sorry to hear what happened, you could try to re dry it in new bags without the plastic box thing, cut all the brown shit out, but personally id throw it, I wouldn't risk smoking any of that bro.
New plant is easier to grow than new lungs dude, as harsh as that sounds, maybe you can cook with it? dunno.
Wish I could help ya more dude, tis a sorry sight to see.
Chin up, Get another bean on the go, will help ya get over this loss.

Hey @LED Borg

Thanks for the input.
Yeah, You're right, best thing is to throw it away. I ain't even gonna try to save something out of the Brown. I'm defo putting it away. Been reading and it's not advisable at all to use it in any way.

I'll get over it. Have a Cheesy auto to harvest in about one week and she seems very healthy. Also have 2 short riders entring flowering stage, so I guess I'll try to learn something from this grow to apply in the future.

This is one of those things that we think that will only happen to others!

Take care.

Got nothin' to offer ya tronik but I do thank you for posting yer predicament. It can serve as an object lesson to meself and others of what to look out for.

That is such a harsh thing to have happen!!

You bet, it's terrible after all the patience and efforts put into one grow.
But the only thing left is to learn from it.

I'm growing outdoors in a subtropical climate, so I'll have to find ways to avoid this from happening.
I'll also try to avoid strains that produce those big colas. I have a cheesy auto and two short riders and they're producing many side branches; the bud concentration in the main stem isn't as high as on the little dwarf. But the little dwarf was my favo.. really short and bushy.. what a beautiful plant.. Actually she made my current avatar! ahaha Nostalgia already!

Don't worry about a thing, cause every little things, gonna be alright!

Take care.

yeah man, that's the spirit, upwards and onwards. Happens to the best of us dude. And I also thank ya for posting, takes a brave grower to show their failures but others will learn from it. Keep calm, roll a spliff and carry on with your other ladies bro and may they be bountiful and mould free. Karma at least owes you that. Peace Bro.

Yeah throw that away. I had a mold break out ruin 75% of a crop once. I did not have green welding glasses to correct all the heavy red. I could not see it in front of me. Was a very strange mold that barely turned color or texture. It made me come up with the technique of spraying neem a few weeks before harvest as a preventative. Do not rinse it away either. It will naturally dissipate by the time you harvest, yet add mold and fungi resistance. I have never seen mold again, or tasted the neem.

If you have seen fungi and mold before harvest, you need to trim the buds clean. Those extra leaves are adding moisture and potential outbreak sites. Good to leave them on if there were no problems on the other hand.
