i just became a type 1 diabetic after being free of it for 15 years after having a pancreas transplant. My pancreas has shut down. The past 3 months I have been followed closely by my university docs. Blood sugars came down a lot. My A1C is 6.5.. Blood sugars have been between 125 to 170.

Now, suddenly I am running between 180 to 250 even higher then that at times. My duet has not changed.

I'm thinking that the molasses I used on my last grow might be causing my sugars to go up.

Anyone else ever experience thus?

Thanks All. :pass:

No, you'll have to look for another reason for your blood sugar going up. You give molasses to your plants for the nutrients and the carbohydrates, but you don't get any of those nutrients or carbohydrates when you smoke or consume the cannabis. think of it this way, if you eat beef the beef ate carbohydrates, carbohydrates will raise your blood sugar but you didn't eat the carbohydrates.

are you supplementing with chromium and Vanadium? There have been some studies in Canada where that was enough to take people from type 2 diabetes down to no diabetes. Of course, I don't believe that will work if you have a leaky gut. Gly phosphate is being used on lots of products these days that it isn't needed on and that will cause a leaky gut. So if you eat grains or cereals even if they're non-GMO you're going to get Gly phosphate. The other thing is to always get loads of good probiotics to keep your gut nice and healthy.

Diabetes is an inflammatory condition and you can do some research on digestive enzymes and their ability to reduce inflammation. You don't have to take them just with meals you can take them between meals.

I would also look into the blood type diet by dr. D Amato. I think that is the easiest way for a person to correct health problems. Simply follow the blood type diet and reduce your total caloric intake at the same time you work on gut health, that should give you better nutrient uptake which is really the biggest problem with diabetes. most diabetics consume more calories than they need because they're looking for a nutrients are deficient in. Of course, that is my uneducated opinion it is not what the medical establishment says.

Not a big carb eater. Mostly get 350 - 450 a day. My only change in the past 3 months is my smoke.

Thanks @jingo

I will look into this :pighug:

smoking weed will slow down your bowel Transit time which is a good thing if you have Crohn's disease because you get the opportunity to absorb more nutrients. Maybe you're getting more of the negative nutrients?

A change in exercise or sleep patterns can make a difference. If you have hormone imbalances and leaky gut that can really throw you off. Plenty of fiber can help with a lot of the symptoms of leaky gut and might help you get your blood sugars into a better range.

the D Amato blood type diet is interesting. I found for myself type B blood type that chicken and pork are bad for me. I had always been eating a high-protein diet because it helps with my narcolepsy and once I cut out chicken and pork I had a big Improvement. You could actually be eating a non carbohydrate food that is affecting your diabetes in a negative fashion by affecting your gut in a negative fashion.

type 2 diabetes here. molasses is used to feed the myco herd in your soil. does not end up in plant material. the time to feed molasses is early on during veg. not so important at bloom.
some people think that molasses sweetens the bud. nope, it does not. it's eaten up by the Myco. I use something a wee bit better than molasses, I use sugar beet syrup. a much more powerful Myco feeder. has more vitamins, minerals, trace elements. :2cents: just opinion given.

Keep in mind that nearly all processed food these days had added sugar and added salt. Even foods that have no conceivable reason to add sugar or salt have one or both of these substances added during processing. This can account for many people who have raised sodium or blood sugar levels.

You ain't kidding, might have mentioned it but one of the worst is Nescafe. You look at the box for their "instant" Cappuccino or Latte Machiato (or any pre-mixed "coffee") and you'll see salt in the ingredients. Why in hell's name does COFFEE need salt added to it to improve the flavour? I can understand sugar in these premixed things, but salt?

Shows how far things have gone, doesn't it. Instead of using better coffee they just fill everything up with salt to make it taste vaguely decent. I would be ashamed to piss that stuff, but people still pay a fortune for that muck and drink a LOT of it, then wonder why their sodium and sugar levels are too high...

@E Grower ..do you have a PH pen...?

Thank you for the responses @jingo @ion @MR magoo :toke:

@Banjacked , it's because the human body craves salt & sugars. The food producers have learned this and aded to almost every processed food.

Like throwing fish a lively red worm... They can't resist.
