The things I remember best were learned from my own mistakes. I've learned so much more from the mistakes of others though. The biggest one I made with my first grow is with Ph. I would adjust my hard city water from its out-the-tap 8.5 - 8.7 to around 6.5, then add nutes when I was feeding. I never checked it afterward but I'm sure it ended up around 5 or less. :no:
For regular watering now, I Ph down with the General Organics Cal-Mag that I have. The stuff even smells like vinegar and takes just about as much, just a few drops. If I add too much, I can bring it up a little with baking soda, or just bubble it for a while and it comes back up. Haven't figured that one out yet, evaporation?
