my first grow was dp think different potted in mg soil for 2 weeks then transplanted in to 15l pots surrounded by john innes no 2 fed with baby bio for 2 weeks due to leaf burn which sorted it on a light cycle of 24/7 for first 2 weeks then 16/8 for the remainder of the grow on plain water feed .i was more than surprised to pull over 6 oz from it.
many people had advised me not to use mg as it causes burn in seedlings and the taste factor.
on my ext grow dp auto ultimate i changed the soil to bio bizz all purpose which i had heard good things about
.in comparison to my first grow by week 7 there was buds galore but on the au grow there was hardly any by week 7 for reasons beyond my control i was unable to finish the grow,
i had replicated my first grow in to my second grow nothing different at all apart from the dp seed type..
my mate has done a au grow with bio bizz and the same schedule i used with more or less the same crappy results i got by week 7 .
but i am going to do my net grow with various soil types to see which one wins.
what reason could of caused this or is it simply the fact that the think different strain is far superior than auto ultimate or was i just lucky with my first one ???

meant to say my mates au grow has been on light cycle 18/6 for past 5 weeks
forgot to mention i use a 600w hps through out

hard to say bro. was it slow release mg? also pics tell a thousand stories bro. if you do a side by side test please document with pics. im sure that would get plenty of views. I now id sub up to that one. peace

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!! :roflcry:

That's a REALLY impressive yield for a first grow! Congratulations!

Now, as for your soil issue, I think you didn't care for the micro herd enough. BioBizz, being organic, relies hugely on the beneficial bacteria built in the soil. You have to use organic nutrients for it all to work out and preferably things such as molasses and lactobacillus to supercharge the microbial activity.

as far as i remember it was miracle grow all purpose .i will be doing a new grow next week im just undecided on what dp strain to do probably think different . i will be starting 3 of them with a mixture of john innes no 2 bio bizz and 1 with miracle grow soil i will document them with pics and start a grow journal i got just over 6 oz last time so hopefully by the end i will know if it was the miracle grow that got me good results fingers crossed

cheers for the info wienerwoods .so what other soil could i use without the need for organic nutes

Well, TaNg for instance is using Plagron LightMix with Advanced Nutrients and he constantly gets crazy results. Huge potential with that combination - you could try that if you wish for something you can 'grow into'.

If you do the soil test use the same seed and strains I fecently had 3 plants in mg time release soil.... my white cheese grew to br huge and won pom... I dont have a dry weight yet she still in the process but its a good bit of bud.... but I also have a rqs white widow and haze that sufferred at first but then took offf later ill get 1.5oz or so off each but..... to answer your question im with weiner the biobizz is great and SOME organic folks get huge yield but you have to treat the soil right and the strain you chose just happened to be able to handle a high level of chemical fert and grew to be a giant
