Hello friends!

I'm finally starting this thread to keep a journal of the Mephisto seeds I got thanks to the kindness of @boaty mcboatface . I've really been looking forward to this.

I usually only grow 1 or 2 plants at a time in my tent. This first Mephisto run I'll do will be with just one plant though it is supposed to be a small strain, so if it does turn out small I'll be getting another Mephisto strain in there ASAP with her.
I'm talking about 24 carat x 3 bears og. My previous runs in this tent have resulted pretty big, "sativa"-like herbs, and I'd like to have some "indica" knockout power in my jars, so I'm hoping this freebie strain provides me that. Also want to grown small plants for a while to be able to have more variety in the tent and not just strain per run.

With this said.. let me tell you that I already have the 24Ctx3BOG seed sprouted!!! She was placed in water on Sept 4th, the next day into coco only 2.2 gal autopot pot, and today (Sept 8) she is a nice little sprout with open coty's! I will count today as day 1. Currently have her under 18/6 schedule, but plan to let at 20/4 by the end of this week.

And well, that's it for now. FYI, here is the information pertaining the setup under which I will be doing the following runs:

TENT: 2x2x4
MAIN LIGHT: 1x BudgetLED QB (Fullspec, 5-120 Watts... usually run it at 60 Watts), 18/6 or 20/4.
BACKUP LIGHTS: 1x Autocob 3500K (60 Watts), 1x Anthelion PCD 660m deep red supplement (9 Watts)
MEDIUM: Coco-coir and perlite/pumice
METHOD: 2.2 gal Autopot or 1.5 gal Hempy Bucket
NUTRIENTS: Greenleaf nutrients (mega crop v1, v2, bud explosion, calmag pro), Epsom salts
TEMPS: 20C-27C
RH: 45-70%

Thanks! Got a better pH meter now (Apera... lovely) and some bennies at hand so I hope root rot and pH aren't an issue this time around. I'll be updating next week.

UPDATE

Day 7 today. She was stretching a bit i believe, so i got the light down to 30 inches from 37 i had it initially. Stretching stopped and leaves started getting bigger but also brown spots started showing up around day 4 or 5. I watered on her fifth day with a stronger dose of CalMag (used 80 ppm to precharge the coco, but for the day 5 watering i increased to about 100ppm), and AFTER seeing the spots, I have been doing foliar application of CalMag at 250 ppm before lights on. Only precharged de coco, and gave 1 watering on day 5, with 250 ppm of MC1 + 70 ppm tap + 80-100 ppm of calmag... so about 400-420 ppms / 0.8 EC with pH 6.0-6.3.

@bushmasterar15 what do you think? I'm following your schedule... should I wait until day 15 for the next watering? or considering the def symptoms should i water earlier? Or should I use more MC1 or calmag since I don't have many of your other ingredients?

She looks good, the little bit of spots are probably from the foilar feeding your doing before lights on. When I used MC1 it was just the 2g per gallon
and then bumped up at day 20. I'd wait till day 15 for next watering and let the roots search. Your doing good.

Oh... sorry, I wasn't clear, but I started the foliar feeding after seeing those spots. But I also feel she's actually good and she will adapt... i believe no new spots have appeared since day 5. Thanks for the input! And for your schedule thanks too! I definitely was overwatering!

UPDATE

Day 11 today. Gave here her second watering yesterday with 750ml of the same 420 ppm (0.5 conv) as last time and at 6.2 pH. Ca def seem to have gotten worse and now there's even a clawing leaf tip. Already strated a thread in the infermary. For now I just plan to ride it out until next watering unless anyone has a better suggestion.

Today is day 14 for this 24Ct x 3BOG.

Raising RH helped... the clawing has decreased and there seems to be no new Ca def spot on the newer grow. Next watering is supposed to be tomorrow... but I won't have time tomorrow so I did it today. I decreased the CalMag part a bit and set pH closer to 6.0.

@autobeast how do you see her? Do you think she'll be a good candidate for toping once she reaches day 20-21?

UPDATE

DAY 21 for this “24Ct x 3BOG”. Today she goes from 18/6 to 20/4... i had planned to do this before but was waiting for the Ca def symptoms to slow down. Light is still dimmed to 60 Watts and is placed at 73 cm / 28.7 inch from canopy... will wait a few days to see how she reacts to the additional hours of light.

I intially wanted to top her but decided to try LST instead. Began LST on Friday… and yesterday I managed to leave her stalk horizontal… she withstood the bending like a champ.

Some Ca def symptoms kept slowly appearing on new growth last week. But the last couple days they seemed to have stopped appearing.

Fertigated yesterday with 1.1 Lt at 451 ppm (70 tap, 361 MC1, 20 calmagpro) with 6.06 pH. Runoff came out at 230-250 ppm. Today I filled the tray with OGBiowar Root pack (bennies to hopefully avoid root rot from last times). I guess I could activate the Autopot reservoir already but I think I’ll give her a few more days to establish before that.

QUICK UPDATE

Yesterday I saw what appeared to be a small calyx in the 4th node (just above the metal wire)... today it can be seen more clearly and with a little pistil coming out of it and some other pistils coming out from the 5th node! Right on schedule!
