so ive read all info on how to max out yeilds but wasnt sure how to go ive seen lots of differnt type of autos and wasnt sure between a think differnt like strain and go for 1 trying to get around 200g or five lowberry like strain as i see 1 seems to go bushy and the other is 1 branch full of bud i had a light but its not right so any suggestion on what kinda light i would need for this would be good im trying to frow in a small space 2x2 ft and not sure what strain to go with any ideas? is it even possible to get that yeild from that space? i do plan on using soil and nuts and cooled oxgenated water and will watch them very carfuly any help much appricated

Hey grow dat,

Can you get your environment close to perfect? If not then other methods of maxing yields - in my experience - become rather moot. I think in future my stock answer to this question will be to concentrate on a stable environment (temps, humidity, water, medium, pots, lights, feeding etc) as the best way to increase yields on cannabis plants. 2' x 2' is really only enough for one maybe two plants, and 200g off of 2 plants in that space is asking a lot even with HID's and I can't see you being able to use a decent one in that space.

In theory, it's possible to get 250+ grams from a 250w HID in a square meter, but that's with perfect growing conditions throughout.

Also, when you say cooled water.. try to avoid having it too cool or it will shock the roots. Personally I aim for between 19-21c.

Hope that helps a little.. I'm getting really hammered right now so I'm sturggling to concentrate ;)

if possible i would find a bigger cabinet what height is that? you said 2x2 but no third dimension.
i would use t5 single fixtures they take up very little space and give off very little heat which i would say will be your main problem in something that size.
if not cfls/led.

i have a link in my sig to my first auto grow with 2ft headroom using those t5s. have a look if it is that short.

Having a stress free, pest free, disease free, stable enviroment is the first step. Surfaces covered or painted for max light reflection. Next is knowing the soil mix/soiless mix or hydro set up at every stage from seedling to harvest. Having your space “dialed in“. From there things such as co2 and tempature manipulation. I believe with co2 you can run slightly higher temps. Getting to know your set up inside and out is how to get the most.

Yea its a homemade grow tent i can adjust to make bigger i work in building so not a problem its about 5 ft high and yes i intend to keep the climat perfect and keep the water at about 17 c i have ph tester dehumidfire also npk tester kits and have read alot about the enviroment watering and feeding also more space mean more lumens so i need about 18000 for 3ft sq and do u think tryimg five smaller autos rather than 1 or 2 in massive pot and lots of light is better

I think you'd be better off really focusing on one or two plants in decent sized pots and get to know them and your growing space as best you can. If it's yield you're after then I believe deep water culture is the way to go (look at seymour buds' grows), but I really can't say that I know anything about it. LEDs would be a good way to go in such a space as you could get more lumens of usable light without running into serious heat problems, but good LEDs aren't cheap. There's a sticky thread about growing big buds in small spaces, I think FullDuplex started it. I would read that if I were you. Personally I would go for quality over quantity, but everyone's different.

All the best mate

Two hundred grams from a 4 sq. ft. area is pretty unrealistic, even for a seasoned grower. That size space is really only big enough for about 1 or 2 large plants or about 4 smaller ones. For a first grow I think shooting for around 100 grams would be more realistic.

I would consider using an LED light for that area. Less heat to deal with and lower cost to run. A Blackstar 240 watter would work nice in there. Stay away from HPS lights, it will be very difficult to control the heat from them in such a small space.

I agree with the above. 2x2 is to small for a HID you would need excellent ventilation and an AC unit to keep temps under control. Best bet at a high yield in 2x2 would be LED and 1 plant DWC. In soil 2 plants 3 gallon pots gives you 1 sq ft per plant. Even with a high yielding strain you would be struggling to get 50 g's per plant. Just my 2 cents. Good luck bro.

I have been growing my plants on a table that is 30" x 30". They sit in a room that is roughly 10' x 10'. I am using two 150w HPS fixtures.

I have a total of three plants, but I only really count myself as having two. I have not a clue as to what my weight will be, but I feel as though these would be considered a high yield.

Basically these two plants are growing in a 2.5' x 2.5' area all bunched together.
