Week 2 inhouse genetics indoor photo periods
  • Mac N Jelly and Jelly Breath s1:

    Week 2
Over this past weekend Mac N Jelly #1 officially hit the res with her roots. She is looking to be the best out of the bunch so far size wise etc. I've still been waiting for the other ladies to follow suit. Mac N Jelly #2 has some roots just starting to come down but hasnt hit the res yet. I'm unsure if they are all just slow growers or if the newer lids I have made some sort of difference. I usually have roots hitting the res within a week. So what I've been doing is after I ph the buckets, I grab a syringe and basically top feed them, and get their root riot cubes wet so they dont dry out. This is something I haven't had to do in awhile, as like I've stated I've never had any issues with roots hitting the res or growth especially in DWC. I also topped up the buckets a tad higher but still left an air gap between the water and bottom of the lids. The environment is fairly consistent at 80-85° F with the humidity in the mid 40s to 50s. I'd like the humidity to be higher but the cold weather also plays a hand in that, as well as having a dehumidifier and flower tent in the same room. I like growing in the winter time better overall though as my air temps can be controlled better. The newer Jelly breath that I replaced the dead/dying one with hit the ground running. Week 3 is when I start to notice them take off, so I hope this will be the same case although it's been more slow going than usual runs. I did happen to read another journal stating they've also noticed slower growth. Could be genetics perhaps...? All I know it's been 9 days (as of Monday) so far and I haven't seen any roots from 2 out of the original 3. Not time to hit the panic button yet, but something to take note of. I did put domes over them to keep the humidity up and to cube the cubes from drying out so fast. As of Tuesday I am now starting to see roots coming down to the res. So they needed way more humidity than what I was giving them is all..
    Anywho..

    I added:
    Rapid start
    hydroguard
    and silicablast
    to all buckets so far

    Week 3
Two weeks ago to this day (currently Saturday as i write this) we finally have some roots shooting down. The domes I put back over them helped so I pretty much chalk the slower growth up to a humidity issue. I like the humidifier I have mainly because it has a thermostat but I think it's not running as efficiently as it was. I had it set to 70°F and im just cracking 50°F RH on a good day. The average is mid 40's. It does get to 60°F with the lights off. Adding more humidity in the winter is pretty crucial in my area. Spring through the beginning of fall I put the dehumidifier to use more often. From here I anticipate more growth from everyone now, and will stay keeping an eye on the humidity.

    Mac N Jelly:
#1 is taking off like a champ and I feel filling water up to the bottom of the lid has encouraged more root growth and development. Something I wasn't quite doing before
Wednesday evening she was fed base nutes at: 2-2-2 along with silicablast, hydroguard, and calmag
#2 roots finally hit the bucket after two weeks of waiting and babying her. The dome is off at this point
I fed her base nutes at: 1-1-1 along with silicablast, hydroguard, and calmag

    Jelly breath:
#1 roots hit the res in a matter of a week, so the dome came off. She's leaning towards the stronger light so I keep rotating the lid so she can grow straighter.
#2 this ones roots are still slightly behind the others but the dome is off and she should be alright. I noticed some rust looking spots on an old leaf but see none on the newer growth.
I fed both of these with base nutes of 1-1-1 along with silicablast, hydroguard, and calmag

Week 5 inhouse genetics indoor grow
  • Mac N Jelly and Jelly Breath s1:

    Week 5
We have arrived at week 5. The ladies are really taking off at this point, and i have moved the lights up. As of Wednesday evening I defoliated all of them, and got rid of some of the lower growth and big fan leaves blocking out light. 3 more weeks to go til I flip. I've flipped on week 7 before but I'm using every bit of 8 weeks this run.

She looked droopy the last couple days. I had no clue why. Wednesday when I was defoliating her I noticed she was real wobbly and leaning hard to one side. I tried to gently move her to straighten her up and her root broke off and she came right out. Somehow, someway, her root ended up breaking. God knows when originally and how it happened. I think she tried to regrow a different root, but I dont know for sure. I have tried filling my buckets higher for more root mass. I thought maybe that resulted in a soft or rotted stem. It didnt look rotted to me and after researching of course i got 100 different answers on how high to fill a bucket blah blah blah. I am also using new lids and the root riot cubes sit in them differently. So in a nut shell who fucking knows. The stress she had also could explain why I possibly seen a nanner forming. This sucks but gonna have to face the reality that she gone...

    MOVING ON......

Hitting her stride now showing new growth by the day. She was just topped last Friday. Bounced back from it like nothing. I'm hoping to see her side branches get more developed and I feel they will. She also required another feeding. Wasn't bad to defoliate at all. I do notice the top of her main stem seems a little weak. I'll keep an eye on it

She is the one that's a week behind but you couldnt ever really tell at this point. As of Wednesday I topped her and defoliated. I must say her growth looks kind of weird. She's starting to eat so I bumped up my base nutes a tad.

This one got topped last Friday as well. She's nice and green, and looking healthy. Was the easiest to defoliate although I did notice uneven growth with bud sites. Hoping that opening her up will help with that. Her ppms are higher than the rest for her size but she doesn't seem to mind it.

    Week 3

And then there were 2... decisions were made and whats done is done. I just hope i can ride the rest of this run out with these two and keep it moving with more stable gear.

Looks great and is really putting out the pistils. Shes been pretty easy to grow. The long lower internodes growing on the inside of her i can do without so ive been removing a few here and there. If i could turn back time id grow 4 of these instead of 2 jellybreath, or id rather have lost both the jellybreath and just have 2 of these left

Shes still hanging in there, and has been the best looking one out of both that i successfully popped. I dont like the long internode growth on the bottom of this one either so she as well is getting light defoliation every other day. I noticed when i got a little heavy with it is when the nanners showed up. Now that i will own. What i wont own is the true hermaphroditism of the other one, and all the other strains from outhouse genetics that have done the same thing to me. Her pistils look more pronounced, as well as less affected and brown looking than the other one was. Although i have the feeling shes still partially pollinated, overall i must've lucked out as this one looks like its going to make it...maybe

    Warning, rant ahead:
Yep I'm done with inhouse genetics. Unfortunately I have a good amount of packs, but i have plenty of other gear to run too. When you message the guy he blames the grower and acts like his shit don't stink. Then he blocks you. In the meantime he'll sick his fanboys on you. Just take a look at Instagram and reddit to see, lol. When they don't herm they're usually fire, but im done taking that risk. I don't have time or the room. IF I randomly run anymore it will be in a small fucking pot of dirt, and possibly taking a clone if it turns out ok. I'm not wasting a 5 gallon bucket of water, nutrients, or time on this shit anymore. #InHermArmy

    End of rant..
